A better built option than the cheap ones...
I wanted a color update to my commute bike, and picked up this steerer tube extender to replace the shiny silver Zoom stem riser that has been in used for the past 15 years. As a point of comparison, I have also purchased a cheap Wake (brand) stem riser for my youngest son's mountain bike in a nice shade of aqua blue. I've included a photo of the two risers, installed, side-by-side.Like my silver Zoom stem riser this replaced, this Origin8 piece uses two beefy M7 bolts (6mm allen wrench size) clamp bolts. The cheaper blue riser on my kid's bike uses the more conventional M6 bolts (5mm hex socket).I see good precision in how the holes were drilled, the evenness of the material thickness, and even the finishing of the hidden part of the riser (through the center). The finish on this piece is very nice. The aluminum is polished so that the anodization looks painted on. In contrast, the cheap blue one is a simple forged finish and the anodized finish shows it.Lastly, the included spacers with this Origin8 are the same outer diameter (and same polished finish) as the base, so when assembled it has a uniform appearance. With the cheap blue one, the spacers are slightly smaller and are even a different shade of blue, making it look sloppy and... well, cheap.

Improved comfort more than expected
This was a quick item to install, though like others have said, you'll likely need at least one more spacer than they give you. I'd suggest picking up a set if you don't have extra. The only other thing (not necessarily negative) is that the hex bolt size is way larger than anticipated. I don't think I have any other part on my bike with that size. Though I did have the right tools for it.Otherwise, the change in ride comfort is huge, much more so that I would have thought it would. I haven't gone on a longer ride yet. Though the quick spin around the block made it quickly apparent how much more upright you'll be with this riser.

great hold
The only thing I didn't like was that I put the stem on top of all the spacers and there was a space between the stem and the top plate which i had to go to my shop and get one. If you only had one bike you would have to go to a bike shop for these.

Improves ride comfort
Easy to install and now my bike fits my needs. I have a lot less shoulder strain by being able to ride more upright. This just transformed my bike for very little cost and an easy installation. If you have never taken your stem off, watch some Youtube videos to make sure you properly tighten everything back down in order to not damage you headtube bearings. It's not rocket science but there is some finesse required.

Good handlebar riser.
My neighbor is a single mom with two growing girls and not a lot of bread. Her teenager is getting taller, and was no longer comfortable riding her bike. After taking a couple of measurements, of the girl and her bike, I chose this stem riser. It took about 10 minutes to remove the original stem and replace it with this one. The girl now rides comfortably, and loves her bicycle again. Her mother is happy too.

It might have been nice if it had all its pieces
I often buy used items from Amazon because they’re cheaper and because it can be a more environmentally sound option. This was supposed to be ‘like new’ but as the photo show that apparently wasn’t the case this time. Looks like someone spray-painted it, lost almost all of its spacers and then decided to send it back. The quality looks like it would’ve been good, so I can’t fault the piece itself. Just be aware that if you get a used item from Amazon their QC seems to be a bit lacking.

Great stem riser so I can ride my 24” bike.
My hips won’t let me get on my bike so I got a 24” bike. But the handlebars were way too low, my knees were hitting them. My husband put this new stem riser on. Wasn’t hard -took a few minutes. Raises handlebars a full 6 “ - makes huge difference. Worth every penny. Looks nice also.

Great For Taller People
I bought an XR Pro Mongoose from a big box store. I purchased the Kalloy 27.2x400mm Black Alloy seat post which brought my seat to the perfect height. The stem height was way too low after I raised the seat. The Origin8 Stem Riser worked perfectly to raise the stem to the proper height. It is well made and of good quality and matches my bike very well. My use is really more on paved surfaces, even though it's a mountain bike. It really worked great for me, highly recommended.
