NEEWER 55mm Telephoto Lens w/ Bag For Sony A100 A200 A230 A300 A330

This is an o.k lens. However, if you're looking to get close up photos with the sony alpha 230 I recommend the 75-300 lens. The 55mm telephoto lens is great for extreme closeups, but for shooting at any distance of more than a couple inches it creates a blur around the subject as well as a slight blur on the subject.I personally would have liked to see actual photos taken with this lens before I purchased it. I dont really recommend this lens for taking photos of anything other than flowers and plants.

Build QualityNothing wrong with build quality. Metal housing feels solid, satin sheen paint. Threads are precise and so is the finish. Glass looks clean, clear, and no defects. Where it has a problem is its actual use.ValueWhen used with a non-SLR superzoom digital camera, the center of the image was blurry and the blurriness increases as you move from the center. Corner shadows appear at some distances. Images mostly unusable, unless you are doing an art project or you're into blurriness. It's odd, when you look through it with your own eye it's clear but when you put it with a camera lens you can forget about clear images.It costs almost as much as the product to return it. So I just use this as a cool paperweight.

I really like this lens. I didn't know what I was going to get as far as quality because of the price, but this is a nice substantial (it doesn't seem flimsy and has a nice weight)lens. The only thing you have to be careful of is the vignetting if you zoom out to far but that is a minor issue. This lens is perfect for those just starting out and/or someone on a budget looking to take their photography to the next level!

Is this the best telephoto lens ever?! Well, no.Is it a good deal for $10? Absolutely.So it's not a professional grade lens, I knew that getting into it -- again, it's $10, people.. What are you expecting? It is a good little lens. Yes, focusing it can take a little more effort than you might have been used to in the past but I've had some great results with it and overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase!

I bought this teleconverter as I was curious as to how good it could be at the low price it was offered at. I already have an Olympus TCON-17. The NEEWER model is not near as sharp as the Olympus one, and is best used for special effects, certainly not for birding or shooting distant people that you want to be able to recognize.I have used it on an FZ35 and an FZ150, both are Panasonic long zoom cameras.

My expectations may have been too high. It is what it is, I got what I paid for. Focus is blurry...which is biggest problem. Okay for stop gap, but recommend paying more for a converter.

I suppose the lens might be good, but I could not tell as I could not take my eyes off the SCRATCHES in the center of the glass! The other Neewer lens we bought was also scratched as badly. Thankfully we were able to return them with no problem. We went instead with Zeikos 58mm lenses and 55 to 58mm step up rings. They work very well indeed, even with auto-focus we found, so I have no regrets on changing lenses.Hopefully the lenses we got were just a part of a bad batch and not how Neewer normally supply lenses...

Review based on use with a Sony A300 camera but can be used with all DSLR cameras.When I purchased this x2 telephoto lens converter I thought that it might be absolute rubbish but at under £7.00, lets give it a go. Well, I was wrong, well I'm glad I decided to buy one, for this is a very good addition to my camera accessories.This converter works by screwing onto the end of your lens, it uses the same thread (these vary in size) that a filter or hood screws onto. As it is fitted onto the lens and not the camera body/lens, the auto focus still works, though you can still use the old MANUAL FOCUS if you want. This unit seems to be well made, good looking and optically clear, it also comes with its own bag. For the price it's amazing, for ten times the price, it aint bad either.......Well done Neewer

You can't expect miracles with something that costs as much as a decent bag of fish and chips, so it has to be in context.Pros:Fits like a glove on Sony A-100 DSLRIt does double the zoom, I've done lots of experiments and it does what it's meant to.It comes with a neat little bag with caps for the lens.You can also put a Raynox - 250 on it, probably other Raynox too, but I don't have them.The price, you just can't lose it's a steal.Cons:The only con I can find is the vignetting when at wide angle but I knew it would have that and it's to be expected.All in all, fantastic.

having read other recommendations for this lens i was perhaps to ..hmm...optimistic about the quality of the pictures it would produce. i have to say i was disappointed with the end result. And even using Raw mode did not change the fact that soft pictures and chromatic abberration was WAY to prevelent in the pictures taken. As i said i am willing to accept maybe i was overly optimistic but considering that other purchases from Neewer have always impressed me its with reservation that i say i personally cannot recommend this lens as a teleport alternative unless as i stated i got a dud...

I took this out for a good test today and i'm sorry to say i am thoroughly disappointed with this, every single picture had a lot of chromatic abberation in them so none of them are usable, i know how to take pictures with minimal or none whatsoever, i have had neewer products in the past and have been happy with all of them that's why i bought this, it's cheap so you get what you pay for.

All video footage taken with this lens is unusable, it is just a blur. When someting is this poor it should fail any quality checks and not offered for sale.
