Blue Banana - Figure Hugging Diamante Dress

I was a bit hesitant purchasing from overseas...and would I get it in time. After reading many reviews, I took the plunge and boy am I glad I did! Amazon quoted my product to arrive in Feb, which was going to be a problem as my function was in January. From the day I ordered my package, the customer service team reached out to me and told me my product had shipped and when it should arrive, which was well before amazon quoted and well before my function. After the quoted timeframe of arrival, and no product, I reached out to the customer service team. She provided me the tracking number and she too watched daily for it. She was so concerned that i wouldnt have my dress in time, she was willing to send me another! I was patient and sure enough it arrived! I can't and wont complain about the shipping, as its not their fault and they went out of their way to show concern as well.Just as others mentioned, the packaging was so personalized and made you feel as tho you were receiving a present...not purchasing one! It was wrapped in paper, tied in a bow, with a little card and a lollipop!On to the dress... its EXACTLY as shown...and fits true to their sizing! Plus its gathered at the sides, so it hides any tiny belly you may have! Its not cheaply made, or thin. I absolutely LOVE it!I will say, Blue banana was one of the best sellers I've purchased from! A very special thank you to Zoe who gave me daily updates and her personal attention to my situation. Now THATS customer service!I highly recommend Blue Banana! ;-)

I had to give this dress away, because I figured why pay to return it? First, of all it's a beautiful dress if you have money to have it altered. The sizing for this dress was much bigger than I expected. Being it was shipped from overseas, I just decided why bother to return it? I gave it to a friend who's three sizes bigger than me and the dress fits her, but not like the mannequin of course. The dresses mid section isn't tapered so it looks kind of square. You need to have it altered to have the mid section create the curve that fits most womens bodies. The color and fabric were very nice! The color is that red that POPS! The fabric was much nicer than I expected from a dress I bought online. It's definitely not a cheaply made dress it's just not cut right. If you buy this dress and you are an average sized woman you need to allow time to take it to have alternations otherwise you are wasting money, like I did.The customer service was friendly when I told them about the problem they were open to a return, but not interested in covering the shipping fees. Ugh, I lost money and got nothing out of it, but a friendly response from customer service. ;(

I ordered this dress for a cocktail party I was attending. While the confirmation gave me an estimated delivery date of 4-6 weeks, the dress arrived within 7 days of my placing the order. I was happy about that because I was somehwat skeptical about how it would fit and wanted to receive it in enough time to continue to shop if necessary; Well there was no need for that. The dress fit exactly as the description describes. It is definitely form fitting but it hides the areas that you dont want to bring attention to. I absolutely love this dress and cannot wait to wear it. Oh I should tell you that I am not a small woman either. I ordered a size 12 which is my true size and the dress is exactly true to size. Wonderful quality and wonderful packaging.

I cannot believe that this dress arrived in four days after purchase. The material is gorgeous in quality, the fit is true to size and the style flatters your figure.The lengthy shipping schedule shown on the Amazon website is totally untrue as the shipping policy clearly advised by Blue Banana is that it ships in seven business days. Even then it arrived three days earlier using standard shipping viz purchased February 10,2013 received February 14,2013.I am blown away by this delightful shopping experience and will tell every one I know who is shopping for a gorgeous dress.

Ordered size 6 and it fits like a glove (might could have used a size 8, but size 6 does fit nicely fitted...definitely accents my curves). My measurements: 5'7, 128lbs, 36C, 28-29" waist, 37" hips. Gorgeous dress!!! Very elegant - bought in the white/creme color. The accent piece is not "too much" nor do I think it is gaudy / tacky. I like it. The ruching is nice. Packaging was great! Shipping was fast considering it came from the UK. I want this dress in all colors.

This was my first time purchasing a dress online.No regrets at all.The sizing had me a bit concerned, as the UK sizing threw me off...but I checked and rechecked the sizing chart, and picked accordingly.Got it spot on...UK10 = US6.When the order was placed, the notice indicated delivery within 5 weeks, which had me a bit concerned but I got it within 3 weeks...that includes shipping from the UK into the US, and then onto the Caribbean via Miami.Great packaging.Wouldn't mind shopping with this brand/supplier again.

The quality of the dress is very nice and the picture does not do justice for this dress. My husband and daughter loved it! The customer service from this company is amazing! The prices are affordable. Again, very immpress with the customer servce provided by this company. I waited till the last minute to purchase my dress and although the company is located in the UK...they made sure my dress arrive just in time!! Thank you Blue Banana! There should be more company's out there like yours!!

I ordered this sexy dress for an evening event at my family reunion a few weeks ago and was not only extremely impressed with how fast the dress came as it was coming from overseas but the packaging was so beautiful, I almost didn't want to open it up. The fit was just perfect! It hid all the extras n hugged me like a glove at the same time. I didn't feel self conscious but sexy and svelte. I will be ordering more clothing from Blue Banana in the very near future!

I have this dress in a few colours and it is a lovely flattering dress. The blue is a good shade, exactly as in the image. The ruching covers a multitude of sins. Buy your usual size as its a perfect fit. The lining is attached to the outer fabric of the dress. This works very well and keeps the dress in good shape. Ideal to pack in a suitcase and doesn't crease. I have loads of Blue Banana dresses because I LOVE the slinky fabric. Although the fabric composition reads the same throughout all their dresses, the look of the fabric varies slightly from style to style. This is of no detriment though. If you haven't tried this brand you will love the packaging and the company is good on returns. I wish they had introduced another colour in their dress range. They currently don't have a fuchsia. This would be lovely for summer. If you are thinking of buying the off white shade, read my review on it first. Overall, any dress you buy from them is flattering and you won't be dissolved.

The reason this lovely dress only gets 4 stars is because it's moderately see through. You will need an opaque half slip underneath then still you will not be as smooth as you would be with this dress in another colour. I have this style in darker colours because it's such a flattering dress. I wouldn't have bought this colour had I tried it on in a shop first, because of this reason. I didn't send it back though because it's lovely for your holidays especially with a tan, and I couldn't be bothere (you know what it's like!). Don't be put off though. It's still a lovely dress and you will not regret it if you have some decent underwear. It's lined too. The lining on all these dresses is attached to the hem of the outer layer of fabric, so it all ruches perfectly. I am 5'7" and it comes just slightly below the knee. Buy your size.

I needed a white/ivory dress for a special occasion. After trawling the high street to no avail, I resorted to online shopping and stumbled on this dress purely by chance. My goodness !!! Wow ! The dress arrived 48 hours after ordering. It was gift wrapped beautifully with a lollipop in the box. The dress fit like a glove. I am a 12 and ordered a 12. It has lots of Lycra so it really pulls you in nicely. The embellishment on the shoulder is a nice touch. I looked so lovely that I found myself trying it on every day, in anticipation of the entrance I intended to make in an outfit that I would not normally wear. I received compliments all night and I wasn't even the host of the party. I am going to buy the red and black one. For the price, it is amazing value and the quality of the dress is first class as well as the service. Blue Banana are now on my favourites page. I know where to go for that special occasion outfit in future.

With the approach of the 'Xmas party of my company, I needed to choose a dress that was classy yet seductive enough to boost my self-confidence. Looked everywhere online and "offline", the dresses seemed either too classy (boring) or too seductive (show off). When I found this dress, it was love @ 1st sight. My hubby loves it and so do II ordered the dress by Monday and it arrived next Friday. Beautifully packed, as mentioned before.I love the feel to it, reminds me a mix of satin with velvet glow (but super soft). The material (as it is "double-sided") feels a bit heavy, and that's why it fits so well.I am so anti "blings" but didn't worry about the diamante buckle wich is kind of discreet.The only thing I could possibly point out as a minus (wich isn't) is that it wasn't made for my body shape... I ordered size 14, as I have a bit large Hips... but I feel it is a bit too large on the Waist. And "no", I didn't order 1 nor 2 sizes up. If I didn't order size 14 it wouldn't fit my hips, any size bigger... well would have been a really bad choice. So I'm NOT telling you to pick your size, nor bigger, nor smaller. Order in advance and if you have any problem you may always rely on the return service.Nonetheless, as I mentioned that little bit of disappointment is only due to my body-shape (afro-descendant on the curvy side).I'm still planning to buy the red one as well :)

OK-so I have this dress in red, black, ivory and blue! Sizing wise-I am a size 12. Black-order a size 16. Red, ivory and blue order a size 14. On the hanger the dress looks sad. Pull it on over your head, down your body and WOW!!! Clingy but, it is double fabric, so covers any flaws. The blue is more a lighter blue than my opinion of a "Royal Blue" (more a deeper blue)but, nevertheless, a stunning colour.It looks expensive with heels and a clutch. Hope they don't make the dress in yet more colours, as I may end up bankrupt!!!

I recently bought this dress for a wedding, and it was perfect!!I read the negative reviews and was abit nervous about the quality. I ordered anyway thinking id return it if it wasnt right, and it arrived the very next day. It arrived in a box so the beautifully gift wrapped dress wasnt damaged. (yes i got a lollipop too- lovely touch) The dress to look at it in your hands doesnt look much and i did start to panick a little but i tried it on and im so glad i did. I instantly felt like a million dollars. After having 2 children i have what can only be described as a mums tummy, but the rouching was very flattering. It comes to knee length which is perfect for me and im 5ft 8 so usually things come up a little short on me. I recieved so many flattering comments from men and women and was even asked if it was a designer dress. I really felt that the dress flattered my natural curves and "skimmed" the not so flattering ones.. It was so comfortable to wear and move in. I could sit dance and eat comfortably as the dress has a natural stretch. I loved it so much i think im going to buy a purple and red one next for anymore weddings or parties. Also if your inbetween sizes dont go for the smaller size, im a 12 top 14 bottom and i went for a 14 and it was just right. As much as you want to be able to say your a size smaller get the better fitting one it will make you feel superb.

Hi. I bought this dress in size 12. i am normally size 10 but got bigger one, just in case. NO, do not do it, as its stretchy enough, so if you are size 10, get size 10. I had to return it and changed it for size 10 but in ivory. I absolutely love it, as they are above the knees (as I am 5.10 and dont like too mini) and they show your figure and hide imperfections. I am thinking to get red and black but as I was told, black need to be ordered in a bigger size as they are less stretchy. But honestly, can`t wait to wear them ...they are sexy...;o)

Hi I purchased this dress on Wed and it was delivered on Fri all wrapped up in beautiful packaging.( oh yes and a lolly pop 2 ) The dress is stunning, it is slightly darker than it looks on the picture but still nice. I took a long while deciding which size to go for after reading the reviews as they were saying to go for a bigger size than u would normally buy. I normally have to go for a size 14 as i am in a size 12 bottoms but need a size 14 on the bust. Some of the reviews state that they are very small fitting ? After making the decision to just risk the size 14. The size i would normally go for, i ordered this colour and the same one in white. As soon as they arrived i went to try them on. How wrong previous reviews have been on the sizing. I now feel that i could have ordered the size 12 and it would have fit comfortable as the material is very stetchy. I am more than happy with them though. The one think i would like to advise people is that the white one is see through so need good underwear with this one.I would recommend this dress to anyone and would say just be true to yourself with the size u are and order that size. No need trying to squeeze your self into a smaller size just because of the size on the label at the end of the day no one will see the label, so rather have a perfect fit than a dress u have squashed your self into!!Cant wait to wear this and maybe even order this in red as i was torn between which color to go for but think this will look stunning in all colours..

All I can say is-if you wear this amazing dress-watch all male eyes follow you! I have this dress in all the colours and love them all. I am a size 10-12 and purchase the size 14 in ivory, red, and the black I need a size 16!!! Always order the next size (or two) up for a perfect fit. With a clutch and heels, this ivory number looks stunning during summer evening parties.The red and black equally as dramatic. Buy it now!!!

This dress is great- I was concerned as it looks small but the inner lining stretches to fit like a glove while holding you in firmly. Very flattering on, the draped outer fabric doesn't cling to any bits you'd rather not highlight.I don't feel the fabric looks cheap...have just returned a similar style one from Next...now THAT looked cheap...nowhere near as nice as this! Also I'm 5 ft 10 and this is a great length on me, just above the knee. Service was brilliant...very prompt delivery, lovely packaging and a sweetie too! Very Pleased :-)

This dress looks beautiful on the picture but let's be honesty an old sack would on the well proportioned sexy model! It was reading all the good feedback that persuaded me to purchase this dress. Im a size 16 with a not so flat stomach and rather big hips & bum, I ordered a size 16 which fits beautifully! And looks 'slimming' .If you want a sexy nice fitting dress then I would recommend this one! I have a black one so if you could buy another colour then there's less chance of us all wearing the same dress at the same party!!!

I've got size 8 (tall, usually buy size 8), it came with a small mark inside, but I was so impressed with the dress that decided to keep itvery elegant and at the same time absolutely sexy, knee length is perfect for corporate eveningsit definitely requires high heels, and I've got a golden bolero for it to match.Very happy, enjoyed compliments all evening!
