Wide-normal champion for Sony/Minolta mount
Got this lens on a whim - curiosity after reading pros and cons combined with a good price for a used but almost like new copy on Amazon. I am not a pixel peeper and on my large desktop screen as well as in usual prints the images are plenty sharp. It focuses fast and reasonably accurately on my A99 original. Taking close images at f1.4 takes a helping of combined skill/patience/luck as the DOF is very small.The lens is small for a 1.4 lens: a little longer than Minolta 50/f1.7 but probably more than twice as heavy and feels very well put together. All in all a dwarf in size compared to the Minolta 85mm 1.4. All in all a very good lens in a nice package that allows it to be carried around without fuss.The meh stuff for me is stuff the can not be held against the lens: many time I still prefer the 50mm FOV along with less wight.

The quality is better than I expected. I guess I will use it more in the future. So far I have not got used to using it yet.

The price was great and I was pleasantly surpised that the refurbished lens seemed to be brand new.
