The elitefts Shoulder Saver Pad works like a board press board without having someone hold the board or sticking it under your shirt. In 2011 we created the Shoulder Saver Bar to make board presses available to those who train without partners. It has a tight fit on the bar so it will not swivel in the middle of a set, it will not compress, is lightweight and transports well. We took the original Shoulder Saver pad and made some changes. The exterior cover is a high-grip synthetic material designed for hard use. We made the pad a higher density so that it gave a true board-like experience. We dropped 500 pounds from two feet on the pad and it compressed less than one eighth of an inch. We even watched Dave run over a prototype with his Jeep...and it survived. In fact, dozens of PRs have been busted using that same pad. This pad would be equal to a two-board.

Its NOT cheating
Not something anyone really NEEDS I suppose, but doesn't hurt anything. I keep it on my bench bar so I'm consistently stopping where I need to while my shoulder heals from a previous injury. I'm also getting older to so I don't care about having to touch my chest with the bar on the flat/incline/decline, press while risking shoulder injury. You can either use this or adopt the powerlifting technique imo (my back isn't good enough to arch like that). Probably a tad expensive for what it is! $50 is a bit steep. I think there is also another out there for cheaper. Fits nice and snug on the bar. Not something I would take on and off often.

doesn't fit a regular olympic bar
Did not fit over my Rogue power bar and EliteFTS refused my return stating it's damaged on the inside. Yes my bar's knurling left a visible mark trying to fit it over the bar, that's a problem with your product and not me. Maybe this would work with a smaller diameter bar with no knurling like a deadlift bar? Would have been nice to know before "ruining" it and making it non returnable. Now I'm out the cost of the product and return shipping and their customer service wouldn't even respond to me. Thankfully I already have the only specialty items I want that are exclusive to EliteFTS, so I can do all of my shopping elsewhere from now on. Plenty of better companies to deal with.
