THE BEST MITER SAW IN THE WORLD
I've been using this model Hitachi 15" miter saw since 1992, it's the best miter saw on the planet. If you want deadly accuracy then this is the saw you want, why you ask. Because the housing holding the swing arm in place holds it on both sides, not just one, no play whatsoever. There's a little viewing window so you can see the location of the cut you're about to make, not some silly little laser that washes out so you don't know exactly where the cut will be. The swing arm has and up and down adjustment so you can have the blade start practically at the vertical position. The 15" blade cuts deeper than any other saw. I've been in the furniture industry/wood working industry for over 40 years and I've seen every saw and type of saw there is, this one is the only miter saw I use, everything else can't hold a candle to this saw. Waytogo Hitachi for engineering such a terrific saw! The reason I'm purchasing another one is because my last saw came with the business I sold. This saw will be the 4th Hitachi 15" miter saw I've purchased, they're that good.

solid made.. cuts great and square.. only thing is.. you will need a finer tooth blade to get glass smooth cuts..

Motor fried in two weeks
OK, far from great. Blade brake never really did work properly and motor burned out in about two weeks of use (maybe around 10 hours of actual run time) Plexi blade guard would jam up into the housing and not come back down. When it was running it did good work. Based on above I can't recommend it to anyone. In shop now for warranty repair.

CHEAP HINGE MATERIAL.
The back hinge on this saw broke after use on our second job. We took precautions to treat this saw with extra care, even building a roof over the cut table to protect the saw from the rain, as we really needed it to cut the logs for the cabin we are building. Yesterday the hinge broke and totally shut down progress. This was an expensive tool and should have lasted us years. Very disappointed with the quality of construction. The metal used for the hinge was sub-standard. Not what you would expect in a tool that cost almost a grand. I gave two stars simply because the saw worked great... right up until the hinge broke.

Dust collection a problem, otherwise a great saw
No complaints about it's cutting ability. It does a fantastic job in this department. But, after owning this saw for three years, and adding the expensive Rousseau dust collection tent behind it, I remain disappointed in the amount of sawdust this thing ejects out the bottom/front of the plastic guard. My shop is rather small, at 16X24, so dust collection is important to keep it habitable. In addition to my 1.5 hp cyclone hooked to the dust tent, I have a ceiling mounted room sized dust filtration system. Regardless of having both the cyclone and the ceiling filtration system running simultaneously, this saw kicks out so much stray sawdust that using it for more than a couple of cuts will drive me out of the shop for a half hour until the dust filtration systems remove the airborne dust. What the saw shoots out the back gets picked up by the tent collector, but what is ejected out the front is of equal volume. I'm at a loss for what to do about this, and may have to part with the saw for this reason alone. Otherwise, it's the best chop/miter saw I have found. If you own this saw, and have found a way to collect this front ejected sawdust, please post your remedy!

Would definitely recommend the saw to anyone looking for a good miter ...
Solid saw. This is our second unit as the first finally died after many, many years of use. We use to cut aluminum primarily with wood and PVC pipe as a second use. The wood blade works well for both wood and plastic. Would definitely recommend the saw to anyone looking for a good miter saw. We use the Hitachi 211001 110-teeth Tungsten Carbide blade to cut aluminum.

THE TOOL I WAS LOOKING FOR
We need a saw to cut aluminum; bars, flat plate, extrusion etc... By purchasing that saw, it allows me to throw away the old saw (same kind, same model) to the garbbage. Since the old one last 20+ years, I expect this one should do the same.
