Philips GoGEAR FitDot 4GB MP3 Player - Black/Orange (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

For the price, this player is pretty good. I needed a replacement for my sansa clip but didn't want to spend $40 for a new one. I looked around a little and found the Philips FitDot and decided to give it a try. At $16 I felt there was no harm in giving this a shot. The built in clip makes it super easy to use. It comes with an arm band but it looks a little and wouldn't fit comfortably around my arm. I am particular about the headphones that I use for the gym and these are OK. The look helps them stay on while running but the sound quality isn't anything special. I'm not too thrilled about the lack of a dedicated volume button as the "volume up"/"next track" and "volume down"/"previous track" are integrated into 2 buttons. It's a space saving feature, I get it, but the sansa clip is the same size and has dedicated buttons. However, getting used to the player with basically only 3 buttons is easy enough and a lack of a dedicated volume button isn't a deal-breaker. I really don't care a bout the lack of a screen as I mainly use the track shuffle feature. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this player. It's convenient and the price is pretty hard to beat.

Device works as promised. 5 minutes out of the box this little guy was loaded up and playing great. I have read other reviews stating this or that, but what I received was a great little MP3 player which is exactly what I wanted. Something small, very light weight that's easy to use. These come with demo songs and they are not used...O_o. I personally like the ear loop headphones. They fit quit well and have good sound. Arm band is definitely not for use on the wrist unless yours are exceptionally large. The arm band fits comfortably around my upper arm without pinching or any discomfort at all. You can place this player on random or skip around yourself, it's your choice. Device arrived with a partial charge, and was fully charged in under an hour. Over all, for the money, you can't beat this little device. It does all I wanted it to do.....play music in my ears while I run, do weights, and use the machines while at the gym.

Use this player for running & cycling. The controls are basic and do include shuffle mode. Can easily be controlled by feel when device is on back waistband or in jersey pocket. Deducted 1 star because of headphone jack placement flaw. Jack is on same side as built in clip opening. So when clipped to waistband the headphones route down first instead of towards....head. Still very pleased with purchase. Philips no longer supports music library software for device. No biggie, just drag and drop music on device drive.

Pros- small, light, good looking, dots let you use it with out needing to look at it. minimal and functional. charges fast and gives enough feed back via led and beep noise as to whats going on. Good for the price, but over all not the best mp3 player.Cons-Limited in the type of files it will play. very picky about how the file is named! things with dashes or numbers in the file name will not play. Some file will make it lock up and you have to go find a pin to hit the reset. Does not sound all that good, nor dose it go that loud.I bought this to use at work, and would prefer something that just has a few functions and dose them well! I dont need a touch screen, game of snake, and a calendar. just an mp3 player. I know there is always a give and take, and this dose a good job but after having used it for almost a year Im getting sick of the downside of this thing and i'm ready to upgrade.

The reviews are mixed. Perhaps it has more to do with the crap shoot of buying this item. I read all the directions. I followed all the instructions. When I went to use the item, it beeped and the lights turned red and it shut off. I just wanted a simple, inexpensive MP3 player so I could listen to my music.This is NOT it. I don't have all the packing materials, so can't return it. I had hope that it would live up to its better ratings, but, alas, it does not.Save yourself the grief and just order something else. While it may be a convenient item in size, it's not convenient when it doesn't work.

So far it's been exactly what I was looking for. Simple, small, clicky buttons instead of a touch screen. It'd be nice if the volume up/down buttons were separate from the next/prev buttons, but I can live with it.One thing I wish I'd known in advance: by chance or by design, this thing makes a very quiet ticking sound about twice a second when it's paused. It sounds just like a pocketwatch nearby, if you have both earbuds in. This was SUPER creepy to discover when I was out on a run in the middle of nowhere.

I thought I loved this player but after this being my second one in 2 years, I have to give it a low rating. The sound quality, and the size was great but just like my first one, the device will stopped charging. The first one I had a little longer than this one and since it was so cheap I just bought another one. My second one hasn't even lasted 2 months. I hate leaving bad reviews but buyers beware!!!

I bought this as a gift for my preteen grandson who often loses things. The wrap style has helped him there. Now it disappears because others want to use it. Four people aged 20 and younger have been using it, especially for jogging. They rave about it! They are able to easily drag and drop songs on to it. Then hit play and enjoy; skip an unliked song or repeat a favorite. My grandson does not jog and does not like the hook on earbuds so he uses his regular ones instead. I plan to buy another GoGear for his sister and maybe another for a loaner.

Si se esta acostumbrado a mp3 simples sin pantalla tiene un funcionamiento bastante sencillo aunque por comodidad yo habria añadido un par de botones mas para pasar sin usar solo los 2 de volumen, la bateria dura bastante. y la ventaja es el cable de carga, que es de usb universal y se puede usar cualquiera sin problema (vengo de utilizar un ipod shuffle)

Wer einen kleinen Mp3-Player sucht, der klein, leicht und einfach ist, hat mit diesem genau den richtigen gefunden.Er ist sauber verarbeit und robust. Wer allerdings einen größern Armumfang wie 35cm hat, könnte mit der Armhalterung ein Problem bekommen.Der Player ist auch leicht aus der Halterung zu nehmen und mithilfe des Clips an der Kleidung zu befestigen.Zu leise ist er auf keinen Fall, ich denke das die Kommentare, er sei zu leise, eher eine Sache der Mp3-Datei war (original, normalisiert etc.)Dadurch das der Player nur in den USA und Kanada vertrieben wird, ist die Anleitung auf Englisch und Französisch, jedoch gibt es auch eine unter Philips auf Deutsch zum herrunterladen.Ich würde ihn wieder kaufen!

Le lecteur n'est pas compatible avec les derniers logiciels windows, en gros j'ai réussi a charger une fois des musiques dedans mais maintenant impossible de le reconnecter au PC il n'est simplement plus reconnu, du coup je dois faire avec les musiques dedans.Cherchez sur le net vous verrez que c'est un problème connu et récurrent, bref produit a éviter, dommage car la forme est vraiment sympa.

L'ho acquistato perchè mi serviva un lettore pratico e poco ingombrante da portare nelle mie escursioni in mtb, devo dire che l'acquisto si è rivelato davvero azzeccato, ottimo prodotto, consegnato, come di consueto da parte di Amazon, in largo anticipo rispetto alla data prevista, imballo impeccabile, alla consegna, ho aperto il pacco per verificare il prodotto e..... sorpresa! le batterie, che io pensavo scariche, erano invece cariche (non so in quale percentuale, però la prima volta che l'ho usato, ha suonato per circa due ore senza perdere un colpo!), anzi, in più c'erano già un paio di canzoni caricate (il che non guasta! ed in più sono anche tra le mie preferite!).Le cuffie si adattano perfettamente all'orecchio e non si smuovono neanche con movimenti bruschi, la qualità del suono è ottima e, al contrario di quello che lamentano altri utenti, il volume non è basso anzi, io l'ho usato a circa 3/4 della potenza ed andava benissimo, il lettore, con la sua fascia, sta comodo sul braccio senza dare nessun fastidio.In ultimo, ma non meno importante, tutto questo ad un prezzo davvero conveniente.Se si potesse, darei anche una stellina in più alle cinque che ho dato.Se avete dei dubbi, non esitate a comprarlo, non ve ne pentirete....
