Ryobi P234g One+ 18 Volt Impact Driver
The P234g is a cordless 1/4" drive impact wrench providing 1500 inch-pounds (125 foot-pounds) of driving power. It is powered by any of the Ryobi One+ Ni-Cad or Lithium battery packs. The tool has a smooth variable-speed trigger with electric brake. The no-load speed is 2600 rpm with 3200 impacts/min. The driver has a quick-release bit holder that makes bit changes fast & easy. There is a holder in the forward end of the base that stores a single bit. Also found on the base is Ryobi's MagTray for carrying small screws, nuts, etc.. The business end of the driver is cast aluminum & should hold up well. The P234g weighs in at 2.64 pounds without battery. The GripZone rubber molding makes the tool comfortable to hold & she feels well-balanced in the hand. In operation the tool offers excellent performance with plenty of power for driving screws, fasteners, & lag bolts. The variable speed trigger allows you to handle smaller items without breakage. It's nice not having to fiddle with clutch adjustments. With a 1/2" bit adapter and the appropriate socket the P234g easily removes lug nuts from cars & pickups.*** Note that this is the bare tool and is not available for separate purchase from Ryobi. If you attempt to register this on Ryobi's site you will have to enter one of the kit numbers that include this tool as "P234" or "P234g" will be met with no results. The tool is new but comes shrink-wrapped instead of in traditional retail packaging. My P234g included the driver, 3/8" socket adapter, and instruction booklet. Normally you would also receive a single quick-release bit, but mine did not come with one. It isn't listed in the description so I am assuming the bit isn't included with this bare tool. For the price this is an excellent addition to your Ryobi One+ collection, or as a replacement.

Surprisingly Impressive little impact driver
Wow, I'm very impressed with this relatively inexpensive impact driver. I've been using it pretty regularly for house projects, and it's never let me down. It's lightweight, easy to grip, and small enough to fit in tight places. Not sure how it would hold up if you're using it commercially as a construction worker or something (maybe you would want a Makita or DeWalt?) but for home improvement purposes, I am very happy with it. So far I've used it to build a fence (drives deck screws into redwood like it's butter), and also with masonry bits for drilling into the stucco exterior of my house to install hooks or secure flashing/gutters, and also have drilled into bricks to install lag bolts. It has enough power for all of these jobs, doesn't get overly hot, and sips battery power as opposed to guzzling. I'm a fan!

Great impact
I’ve been using these for years and cannot find them anywhere. The new ones are junk and don’t last but a month. After two I decided to look for the old ones and these are the best.

this is a great price for a very useful tool
If you already use the Ryobi 18V One batteries, this is a great price for a very useful tool. Speed and torque control is great, it will impact drive gently at very low rates/speeds if you need to, which is perfect for setting the screw depth exactly where you want it for fine work, or pulling screws out carefully in difficult situations.

I Love this Tool
I tried several impact drivers before I settled on the P234g Impact driver. And in my humble opinion this one stands alone. It's not so powerful you can't control it. In fact you can do rather delicate work with it. Yet when you want it to be powerful, the power is all there; certainly all you need for working with wood. Every time it goes into its impact moves, it makes me think of magic. This one, the P234g works like Magic, and I've fallen in love with it. I be happy to recommend this tool to everyone I know.

Ryobi is not the best brand available
I use this for all my projects around the house and farm. Ryobi is not the best brand available, but it is the best value I have found. The batteries are a little expensive, but for the additional power that comes with lithium ion it is well worth the investment. For those wondering the difference between an impact driver and a normal drill, there is a significant difference in the way that it drives the fastener. This is best for driving things like lag bolts and long wood screws. Phillips is not the best option either, I usually try to get torx if I can afford it, since those drive much more easily without stripping. Bolt heads work great too. But it will drive a phillips in a pinch, just expect it to strip out from time to time because it is a more powerful drive. This also only has a hex drive, no friction chuck. So you will have to use 1/4" hex shaft tools on it. I wouldn't recommend it for general drill use, but in combination with a good hammer drill or driver. Great if you are building a deck, putting up wood sheeting or metal roofing, etc. Great for light automotive work, but at only 15 ftlbs it isn't the same as a proper pneumatic impact gun.

Light weight heavy power.
This is one fine driver. If you bought the drill kit without the driver and need the driver here it is. I originally bought the drill kit and the the kit with both was on sale so my son-in-law got a drill kit for Xmas. We were replacing their deck and needed 2 drivers... I'm impressed with the utility that is provided by the newer i-ion powered tools. It just takes some work to figure out which product will be around long enough so that replacements batteries will be available.
