What children age is this item recommended for?

I got it for my 3 year old and he loved it until the day we passed it on. My only issue was the turquoise blue ramp sides. They are not glued in upon arrival. I tried a variety of ways to keep them in but my kid kept removing them. He loves to take things apart though. It was a great solid piece.

Will this work with brio or other similar trains?

I have only ever seen this 1 that is this big the rest that I have seen are much smallerI will warn you though if you buy this beware that NOtHING is put together and there are tons and tons of pieces!
