I ordered the 4 pack Kidde smoke alarm to replace my FireX FADC smoke alarms which were 9 years old. Before ordering I searched for the correct replacement model which said i4618ac. Once I got the package, I noticed the adapter pins were wrong. This was not mentioned in the information I got for compatible models. I had to order the quick convert adapters and they only come in 1,2 or 6 packs however the smoke alarms I ordered were a 4-pack. Seems sneaky that they have a 4-pack smoke detector but no 4-pack covert adapter and no mentioned of needing the convertors.

My house was wired with these smoke detectors. One of them just stopped working after 12 years. Maybe because someone smashed it when it wouldn’t stop beeping? (Don’t ask me how I developed this theory…. But I ordered this one on Amazon and it arrived quickly and plugged in just like the old version and looks like the rest of them it saved me from having to call an electrician and order a whole new set. Happy this worked out.

I ordered a case of six smoke detectors to replace older detectors in our home. I just received a case of what looks like "used" or tampered with" products. Every single box was open, ripped cardboard tabs. These are not safe to install. Do not trust your family's safety to this product.

Needed a replacement. Shopped around googling around online and found on amazon as the least expensive and fast delivery. Ordered as a replacement for the exact model from several years back. I believe they only last about 5-years or so. It plugged right in to the current wiring harness without having to replace the old one. Seems to work great. Hope it lasts another 5+ years. Thank you.

It was time to update our smoke alarms and the electrician missed one.. so I bought this, and the adapter, always get the three prong adapter and replaced it myself. My husband doubted I could do it, let alone buy the right connection for it.. and honestly he has history here…. I should probably have called the electrician back.. but it’s the same as he installed! Success! A three minute job and we were done!

Purchased 5 smoke alarms. A 4 pack and a single. Each individual alarm box was stuffed into a Tyvek USPS unpadded letter mailer. Boxes inside were all beat up. Description stated that the were to come with a cleaning cloth. There were no cleaning cloths. 2 of the detectors had a low battery chirp upon installation. Batteries needed replacement.Blame would be assigned to both Kidde and reseller.

Smoke alarms arrived soon then expected. Was able to use old connectors and base plate - make installation easy.

Needed to replace one of my detectors in my system as it started malfunctioning. Had to call Kidde tech support because the date on the detector was last March, but the very helpful tech support person assured me it has a 2 year shelf life and I should date the change on date at 10 years from today. Very good service.
