Very good; minor issues; blade quality is high; handle is good.
Rattled a bit when I opened it; plus there is an odd yellow plastic looking bubble near the to of the handle. I corrected the rattle by giving it a few solid swings through the air (not objects). I have read multiple reviews across a half-dozen sites, saying this sword is excellent. Here is my personal opinion: Blade: high quality, what some call a "medium" cutter. It is definitely 1060 steel and differentially hardened. Blade is sharp enough to cut paper. YOU MUST EXERCISE ABSOLUTE SAFETY when using this blade. The handle is lower quality, but still good. I'd give it 4 stars if not for the rattle/bubble issues. The blade is worth $100+, so it's still a good buy. I picked it because it didn't have the bo-hi (groove) and had a slightly longer handle than the others (11" or so). I wouldn't give this as a training blade (buy a blunt "iaito" type for that; even then, the tip is still sharp). This blade will likely cut through small branches, but doing this could potentially bend or warp the blade, so I do not recommend that, ever. If you want that type of blade, go for a 9260 through-hardened blade (run you about $250-$300). This is a very good blade for the price.

Great fit and Finnish with a very beutiful hamon
Great fit and Finnish with a very beutiful hamon! Very sharp and cuts great. Would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a good practical practice sword. It did come with a sword bag and papers.

resulting in pretty unresponsive handling
Tsuba is way too thick and heavy for the blade, resulting in pretty unresponsive handling. Blade is nice.
