I've owned three pairs of candence and I have them in both black and the color that Steve Madden calls "cognac" and these are NOT those boots. These are a cheaply made fake. The "leather" is bubbled not smooth. The toe is too pointed. The sole of the boot should be wood and instead is rubber. These aren't even convincing. I'm livid, having spent $100 on these.

I love these boots
I love these boots. I own them in brown and black, and wear them all the time. Literally, I've been wearing one or the other at least once a week since I got them in 2013. I actually managed to lose one of my black ones (*crying*) and will be ordering a new pair. The reviewers who say that these shoes run small are right. I typically wear an 8-8.5 and I got these in a 9 and they fit well with athletic socks but a little tight with wool socks. If I'm wearing tights that day, I will put socks on over the tights to make them fit better. Nothing that will make me reduce my stars.My only problem has been that, because I walk around a lot while wearing these (I'm a teacher), I have managed to wear the heels down to the wooden part on both pair at least once, and on my more worn black pair twice. However, I just go to a local shoe repair shop and they put a new rubber sole on the back heel for about $15 and they are good as new, possibly better because their soles have better grips than the original (not that I bought the boots for the grip quality). This is not a fault of the boot, and I just want people to know that a worn heel does not mean you need to throw out your $99 purchase...just spend a little money and you can get another year or more out of an awesome, comfortable pair of boots.

Absolutely LOVE these boots!!
Love these boots!! I bought them 4 years ago at Von Maur and wore the life out of them. I've been searching for another pair, but could never find them. I was ecstatic to find them on Amazon! I just received them yesterday and I'm already wearing them. I can't say enough good things about these boots - great color, love the slouchy look, and they fit my wide calves!!

Great Boots! Second Pair
Love these boots. This is my second pair. I bought my first pair years ago, and still have them, they are just getting very well worn. So i figured i would get these while they are still being made. The details between the first pair and this pair follows: First and foremost the Leather is the same. the differences are that the first pair had a different outer sole and the height changed a bit too. The first pair was a bit taller and the sole was a harder rubber that was a very light brown color, that looked a lot like a light colored leather sole. The new pair is about an inch shorter in height, and the sole is made up of a different rubber composite that is a little softer, and does not give off the same exact appearance as my first pair. The rest of the boot is about the same as near as I can tell. In line manufacturing changes are done over the course of the years for various reasons. I can live with the minor changes. The inside sole/foot-bed does had a nice soft padding so they are comfortable to stand in and wear for long periods. Size runs true. If you want to wear heavy socks, size up a half size is my recommendation, but if thats not important to you they do fit true to size.

Must have for your wardrobe!
this was to replace the same boots that I loved so much that I literally wore the sole out of them (well I am a redhead so taking souls is what I do professionally. j/k). However, even through I purchased the same exact ones and the same size, I had a very hard time getting these ones to form to my feet right. They were slightly small around the toes and the ankle part would pinch in if ever I have to squat down for any reason. I attempted to break them in through various methods I learned from being a boot wearing girl since I was little. However, nothing I did worked.Now, despite this pair I purchased not eventually giving to form, I would highly recommend these boots. My previous pair I have had for several years and have practically worn everyday. once they are broken in, they are great for everyday use and match almost any outfit. I would get compliments all the time on these.

Small feet + fat calves = a minor issue
I bought these boots in a whole size up from what I usually wear. I have small feet and knew my calves were going to cause an issue, which is why I sized up. These boots still did not fit over my fat calves. BUT the quality of them was exactly what I was looking for. A full week of using google's suggestions for stretching leather helped enough so I can wear them comfortably. I wish these came with a wider calf, but stretching them was relatively easy and now I am hoping with regular wear this fall, they will stretch some more.

Nice color, design, but tight around the calf.
From the boots I can tell Steve Madden maintains quality of it's products: good leather material, smooth with the right black.I am size 6.5 and ordered 6.5 and it's slight loose which is perfect for boots with low heels, to provide that extra room for comfort. Light weight.It has a split open at the upper calf area to give a little design which I also like.Cons:Tight on the calf. My calf width is 14 inches and oh man, the boots is very snug on my calf. Since it's leather, I wore it a couple of times and broke it in and was able to wear it without noticing it being tight on my calf. So I kept it because it looked nice on my legs with the multiple folds.

Jamás creí volver a conseguir éste modelo de botas Steve Madden ya que fueron lanzadas al mercado hace muchos años. Me encantan, son cómodas, el color es precioso, la piel súper suave, si tienes las piernas muy delgadas las vas a sentir anchas, pero yo tengo mucha pantorrilla y son las únicas botas que he podido usar en mucho tiempo.
