Great lock! Works Wonders on My Front Door!
This lock was exactly what I was looking for. It's much nicer than the ones I was looking at in other stores like Home Depot. I installed it above my deadbolt and my door no longer gives or moves when locked (I have an old door and the deadbolt locks well but the door could still move some with it locked). Another positive on this lock was that it came with the required screws and they were the appropriate size and length. I was really looking for a lock where the mechanism turned to activate. I couldn't believe I couldn't find that in other stores. This lock is nice, heavy, and after all my searching I can't believe I found it.

Solid construction
The media could not be loaded. High quality!!! I ordered one to confirm that the construction was solid and looked good. Came in and bought the second one right after I installed

Broke before I even put it on the door...
I bought this lock as an additional measure to my chain lock for our front door. Right off the bat I realized it wasn't going to work very well for my type of door. However I decided to try it hoping for the best. Before I could even screw the first screw in I noticed the latch hanging half out of the bolt (see the 4th pic). I then tried to remove the lock gently to see if it was fixable and the latch completely fell out. I then noticed a little piece rattling around inside (3rd pic). It too fell out and looks like it snapped off from inside. Let me say that I put absolutely no pressure on this at all before it broke. I was literally just screwing it onto the door and it fell apart. Returning immediately.

Nice latch for a simple box, but not for securing doors
The media could not be loaded. The latch was exactly as described. From the photo you can see its relative size. The screws supplied are about 1 inch and #6 in size. I wanted this as a latch on a sliding panel on simple box that I made. For that purpose, it's really good. The seller's item description, it mentions " To Offers Reliable Protection Against Intruders." It does not. The screws are simply too small and too short to provide any resistance to force. You can't use a larger screw because the screw holes in the latch are small and will not accept a larger diameter screw. You could use a longer screw, but it would still be a #6 and you probably wouldn't need much force to break them.

This latch was purchased for an old desk that came with my house. This desk is so massive that the people I bought my house from either couldn't or didn't want to remove this beast from the bedroom office area! Score for me because I love this desk with the exception that one of the cabinet doors wouldn't latch anymore. I ordered this bolt latch from Alise and installed it and it is exactly what I wanted! The oil rubbed bronze color matches the other fixtures on the desk perfectly and it was pretty easy to install. I will say that the screws are pretty cheap and strip out pretty easily so be careful. I had a few strip out on me but it worked out ok. I would recommend using a stronger screw and not the ones it comes with! That's my only issue with it... otherwise, I love this latch! It looks great on my desk and functions like a latch should!

Okay for light duty
While this latch was perfect for my use, it’s only for very light duty. If you are using this to stop someone getting in a door or window, it’s much too flimsy for that. To keep a cabinet door closed or to stop someone inadvertently opening an interior door that doesn’t have another lock, it works well. Some people have mentioned an issue with the screws. It comes with two extra screws, which are slightly larger and can be used to replace the two smaller screws on the latch (the bolt side uses four screws). Don’t use an electric screwdriver because the screws, like on most similar lightweight hardware, can’t handle to torque and you will strip the head. Just mark and drill a small hole for each screw and the screws will easily go in using a hand screwdriver.

NOT Designed to work on Larson storm doors.
Purchased to put on two recently purchased Larson storm doors. Product is too "close" to surface to provide a latch on the frame. Seem solidly built but would not work unless a person knew what they were doing to shim them out. And then it would be very difficult to make them look good. Disappointed they were advertised as "storm door" application; they aren't. I'm being generous with the rating because I suppose with the right application they would be both Durable & Easy To Install, just not for what I bought them for.

Good
I like the lock there is just 2 minor things I didn’t like. The latch you can’t tighten all the way or it won’t glide in and out. Second there were 6 screws. 4 inside the package and 2 out. The only ones that worked were the 2 not in the package. Found that odd but I just replaced them myself. FYI they seem to be wood screws and I’m installing on an aluminum screen door. Would I but another one? Absolutely.
