Tappan washer belt replacement
If your washer seems to be running slower than you remembered or if it occasionally stops agitating or spinning then this belt may be your problem. The rubber will become glazed over and start slipping first. You will notice the washer may also make more noise while it washes. That means the motor is working too hard and the belt may now have cracks in it. Fixing the problem may be as easy as replacing this belt. I have a 1995 Tappan-White-Westinghouse large capacity washer and it took me about 10 minutes to remove the old belt - maybe 5 to replace it and about the same time to remove and replace the front panel. I would unplug the unit first and get a good Phillips head screwdriver. That's all you need to complete this repair job. You don't even need to move the washer. First open the washer lid, and if you can manage, pull upward very hard on the top of the washer from inside the clothes opening to undo the two clips that anchor it to the front panel. Support the washer top deck with a bungee cord or pointed stick. Then undo the two screws on the bottom of the front panel and slide it up about a half inch until the whole panel falls forward. Set it off to the side. Lying on the floor, reach behind the motor on the left side of the washer, following the belt underneath until you feel the tensioner pulley. Push in as hard as you can on that pulley until you feel the belt come loose. Work the belt downward off the pulley while reaching in with your other hand begin to turn the large drive pulley under the transmission (center-bottom under wash tub) away from you. With your left hand bring the belt forwards towards you until you feel the belt fall off the motor pulley (left-front). Now the belt should just drop off the larger pulley but you'll have to reach through its spokes and help it clear the bottom shaft of that pulley. Remove the old belt and just reverse all those previous steps to replace the new belt. Be sure to be pushing in on the tensioner pulley during reinstallation. Lift the belt up on the motor pulley first. Then the larger pulley and finally over the tensioner pulley before you release it. This belt fits many different models so the exact placement may vary some but the steps are basically the same. Once the panel is back in place and the screws are tightened back, drop the top washer panel down sort of like closing a car hood and push it down firmly until the two clips relock the lid in place. You may have to shift the top a bit sideways to line it up but that is not hard to do with one hand. Thanks for reading and Good Luck with your repair job.

Haven't needed it yet - purchased to have it on hand when needed.
This was ordered as a spare, so I can't say how it will perform. What I can say is that it was shipped promptly. It's for a 15+ year-old basic Frigidaire top-load washer that has been amazingly reliable and gives good washing performance. I had to replace the pump, and although the original belt is still working well, I decided to have a replacement handy.I never expected all that much from a basic Franklin/WCI/Electrolux washer, but this thing has been stellar! Too bad that Electrolux moved out and tore down the plant in favor of building them outside of the U.S. How'd that work out for ya', guys? Not well, I've heard.

WASHER FIX FOUND
We have an old washer that stopped turning on the wash cycle. Although the rinse cycle was still okay. We decided to move the washer out of the garage since it was not working anyway. Accidentally, the washer drive belt was found laying and broken as I tipped over the washer while using a dolly. I did a quick search for the Westinghouse part number but was able to get a Frigidaire part number instead. Either ways the part I ordered online matched. The item was delivered via USPS within the weeks time. Followed the instructions online on how to gain access to the front of the washer. It was so easy. It took me longer time to locate a good enough screw driver to remove the bottom 2 screws of the washer. After the screws were out, the front panel cover slid up and out to expose the drum and the bottom section of the washer. Slipped the drive belt in on both spindles , over the tensioner and I was done. Closed the front cover, screwed in the two bottom screws and I was ready to go. Plugged in the power cord and the washer worked like a charm.I'd say the new belt was perfect for this washer. It ran like new again after more than ten years of use.

The belt on my machine looked fine at first glance
My 9 year old Frigidaire FWSB6600ES0 top load washing machine started making a squealing noise a few weeks ago. I did some investigation online and found some helpful Youtube videos that walked through replacing components. The belt on my machine looked fine at first glance. I observed the machine running and things seemed working OK but it was really hard to pinpoint where the sound was coming from. I decided to buy the belt and the Outer Tub bearing. After I pulled the old belt off and replaced it with the new belt I discovered that the old belt had really stretched out. Between the belt and the bearing, the noise is now gone. I can't say for certain that the belt fixed it but I wish I would have tried this first. Definitely worth a shot if your machine is making noise. The fixes have bought me more time before replacing my unit.
