Robust
I usually make my own cables but needed this last minute. I spent 6 weeks in the Arctic recording sounds (wired standard stereo L & R) and this cable held up well.

just the way I want them
good quality, perfect size, no lagging and they do the job.

Shorted
I bought this so I can use a short segment of wire to hook up to a testing unit so I can quickly swap out components. This requires a high quality cable, and connectors but it also has a calibration system just in case anything is wrong.Because you can disassemble the ends, I unscrewed one end and looked at the solder job. There was no heat shrink over each of the pins, which is fine as they are far enough away. However, they are using the shielding as the ground wire, which is fine, but they connected it to pin 5 instead of the ground pin. This means the wire is 4 wire plus shielding, when I was expecting 5 + shield which would go to ground.Even worse, is whoever did the soldering for the shielding, didn't wrap the wire properly and didn't verify that all strands were soldered. There are 2 strands free-floating inside the connector. This means, over time, it will eventually make contact with one of the 4 other pins as they are long enough to reach, but short enough not to get bound up on the sides. This means, if I were to have plugged it in as an extension cable for one of my tools, and I measure a delicate instrument, those 2 strands could've connected to -1 / -2, +1 / +2 wire and shorted it, destroying the piece of equipment.I paid more because I was hoping this was 5 wire, it isn't. The ground pin isn't even used, which is not right. If they were going to use 4 wires and ground on one of the pins, then they should've added a jumper to the ground pin to be compliant. There are other wires on Amazon for half the price with 2 in the same pack and the photo shows the same connectors. I would recommend those - and obviously check the wiring before use.

Unshielded
The shield has no continuity from one end to the other. This ended up in the trash.
