AC Adapter for Toshiba PA3715U-1ACA Laptop Battery Charger Power Supply Cord PSU

I purchased this as a replacement charger for the Toshiba Satellite P775-S7320 in November of 2013. This cable DOES power and charge said computer about as well as the original and is obviously very affordable. However, it is NOT an exact match for the P775-S7320 and will pop out of the laptop with little provocation. This may be a good thing, though, given the circumstances; if you're like me, you had to replace the original charger because you were in some way horrible to it, either letting it get bent up or pulling on until it finally lost its will to live.The only major downside to this cable is length. Whoever sat down and decided that four feet was an appropriate length for a laptop cable needs a good kick in the pants. The thing BARELY makes it around my recliner to plug into the outlet in the wall directly behind said chair. Need to plug in across the room? Forget about it. I would not recommend this charger for students or professors, those who use their computer to give presentations, or anyone else who might need a little reach for their rig due to sparse or unpredictable outlet placement.UPDATEAs of September of 2014 (less than a year of use), this charger cable has developed a problem with sporadically failing to communicate with my laptop (computer reverting to battery mode in spite of being plugged in). The issue seems to be with the connection between the wall cable and the power brick. There is no problem with the connection to the wall (trying an outlet on a different circuit made no difference) and the connection to the laptop is solid. Breaking and reestablishing the connection between the wall and the power brick appears to have no effect and neither does bending or pinching the cables at either end of the brick (cables exhibit no signs of damage) or rotating/elevating the brick. Connection may be lost whether the brick is running hot or cold and giving it a good shake will sometimes reestablish the connection, but it will eventually fail again, even if the brick is completely undisturbed.

When my laptop kicked the bucket I was beyond disappointed, but as luck would have it my fella is pretty smart. Just as I was about to toss my expensive brick in trash bin he suggested I try a new cord. He was right, as usual, and I'm a very happy camper! It's a touch shorter than the one that came with it, but that's a really small price to pay for the total salvation of a computer and all the data I didn't back up. :)

At first when I received the adapter it worked okay and appeared to be working fine. However, about seven months after I purchased the item it started melt and overheat when I was using it. I took it to an IT specialist & he told me if I continued to use it, my house would catch on fire...YES! I stand corrected..a $10 adapter would've cost me THOUSANDS of dollars cause of FIRE! So I contacted the Metrodeal & we emailed me back forth but then the emails stopped & I wasn't offered a refund or a replacement for the defective adapter, there was only endless questions from MetroDeal. You have been warned...PLEASE proceed with caution!

While you’ll get no complaint from me regarding its functionality, it runs VERY HOT, AND WILL MELT. I’m serious. If you order this, bear in mind that you will need to unplug it regularly to let it cool down.Once again, it works. It does its job, fits snugly and all that stuff, but it will melt.

I was a little scared at first because it didn't look anything like my previous charger and did not look like the picture, but the charger works just as well as the original one that came with my laptop when I bought it. I haven't had any problems yet, it's been a few months since I purchased it. Would definitely recommend to someone looking for a replacement

It was just what I needed

Arrived earlier than expected and in great shape from overseas journey to US. Seems like cheap quality but has been working well so far with my older toshiba satellite laptop at a fraction of the cost of one from a big box electronic store

Purchased May 29, 2018. Charger failed September 9, 2018. Barely lasted 3 months, was extremely hot during use, and had a high pitched whining noise during use. Save yourself the time and the trouble and invest in something higher quality.
