Excellent running shoes so far
The shoe fits as expected, I have only been running in them for about a week and trying to get as much use out of them within the return window as possible due to the negative reviews. I weigh 185lbs and the shoes feels really good on my feet, I had an x-ray done on my right foot and it showed a small bone spur I'm guessing from putting in 12 miles or more while running in a weeks time and I was put on anti-inflammatory pills for a month to try and get rid of it and not have it surgically removed. I ordered these shoes in place of the many other brands and type of running shoes I already own and I have to say so far these are the best of them . The shoe feels wonderful when my bad heel strikes the pavement and I haven't experienced any pain as of yet. I will keep my fingers crossed that the shoes continue to impress me on my 12 or more miles a week journey.

Good looking shoe; just not made to be worn
These shoes are such a disappointment. Adidas usually makes a great shoe, this was not the case with the Slingblade. The shoes suffer from a combination of poor quality and poor design. Within a couple of weeks after wearing the shoes, the sole cracked and separated from the upper on the right shoe. As a result, the right shoe doesn't provide appreciable support and you can notice the difference between the two. I've tried to glue the damage in an attempt to get a few miles out of the shoe, to no avail. To be honest, I'm not sure if I should donate the shoes to Goodwill or simply throw them away. If the store doesn't closely inspect them, the shoes could be mistaken for nearly new. This could end up costing an unsuspecting customer $10 which these shoes are not worth brand new. Even at two dollars, I would feel guilty knowing someone paid that much unless they were buying the shoes for raw material/scrap. If you see Springblades in a thrift shop, I suggest making a half price offer. Do not buy Adidas Spingblades new, ever!Quick background: I have three pairs of running shoes that I cycle through and rarely wear the shoes anywhere when not training; I have two older pairs of running shoes (used to be shoes I trained in) that I wear casually. These shoes had hardly any mileage before they failed.

bigger guy trying these SO FAR SO GOOD *update*
the box was beat up, but good thing it was just shoes. got here early. ordered on feb 6, said it would be here between feb 12-14, got it the 8th. so far they are really comfortable, but i did just get them today. if i have any problems with it, i'll definitely edit this review. i got the solar blue ones. i'm a pretty big guy, so i'll update this review for the bigger guys out there looking for running shoes.UPDATE****I had a really bad pain in my foot if i were to walk a certain distance. So far, i've waked to the gym and back (2.5 miles together) 4 times. i have had NO pain in my foot since. also, no more knee pain, and reduced back pain. Probably the most comfortable shoes i've ever had. and since i have had my foot pain i've tried 2 different nike shoes, two different reebok zigs (a close second to these springblades), and a pair of crappy sketchers with memory foam.

I Want To Love Them, But Bad Product
I it's a must to warn potential buyers of this shoe, As I am a person who is on my feet all day with severe back problems, I am willing to try any type of a shoe for some release. I wore these shoes about 7 different times only on days out with the family on the weekend they helped me in great strides I did not hurt nearly as bad at the end of our time together my feet my knees my back felt much better but that being said the sole of the shoe is pieced together and after normal we're not even in the rain out with the family on a Sunday they start coming apart and the plastic soles are flopping around as you walk so for such a high dollar pair of shoes that retails for almost $200 please use a better glue a sad and customer to adidas products hopefully they will do something about it but if not this is my review they went the right direction just did not follow through.

I Love the Look and Comfort, But the Soles Are Concerning
First off, let me say I love the look, fit, and comfort of these shoes. I will only wear Adidas athletic shoes, as they are the only shoes that seem to fit my feet correctly. These shoes have gotten more compliments and comments than any other shoes I think I have ever owned. I really do love the shoes, but there is one really big problem with the soles of the shoes. It seems that due to the design, there are stress points that cause the front part of the 'blade' sole to start to come apart from the bottom of the shoe. I can see that some of this is intended, but my left shoe has come apart more than it seems it should, and feels like it is flapping around when I walk and could come apart completely which would be very disappointing considering the cost and relative newness of the shoes. I am not a heavy runner, so the stress on the 'blade' soles hasn't even been due to running a lot, and has been more due to just walking day to day for just over a month. Also, the shoe box they came in was pretty trashed.

The Tech Way to Run
There are three different versions of the Springblades. I have the earliest version (?) with the film coated mesh which looks shiny. I'm 185 and wear a 9-1/2 with high arches and very tender forefeet. I have no problems at all and run comfortably. They fit like a glove, true to size and have no torsional twisting due to the nylon plastic blade chassis so there is no knee pain. This is a dry hard surface running shoe, period. It would be a waste to wear these everyday and chance damaging the blades. The blade concept does work. I consistently run better times on the order of 1%-2%. Not a lot but that's a half minute or so for a thirty minute run which is dramatic when you've been running predictably for years on the same track.
