Grow indoors initially for good results.
Rec'd 11/17/15. It was tiny, packaged well to protect it, but was dry by time I got home & found box sitting in sun on warm day. I think it got hot in the wrapping. I'd read that these do better if raised indoors the 1st yr, keeping the pot a bit small w/ each re-potting as it grows so each new pot is just a tiny bit bigger than previous one. I set it in the bathroom a few inches under an LED light w/ a makeshift shelf that I could lower as it grew toward the light. Watered it, left the light on 24 hrs. a day the 1st week since it didn't look good when I unpackaged it. Let it dry totally before watering again each time & cut the bottom off a 1 liter clear water bottle to slip over the plant to keep humidity in, but w/ cap removed so it doesn't stay too wet. Worked like a charm, & the plant grew really well, needing new pots twice since Dec. I've had to rig up ways to tie the limbs together loosely & prop them upright since they are so long now & want to flop over like a willow tree. Would like to plant it outside this yr, but internet searches show best chances of survival are if planted outdoors the 2nd yr. Will have to put it in a large pot this summer & set near a window or something (have to check if toxic to pets first). Not giving 5 stars because I was very concerned it would die initially--but that might be unfair since it was likely due more to the delivery guy setting it in the sun on step instead of on the porch in the shade. This is my 2nd attempt to grow these. 1st time it came in spring & it was only about 2" tall when came (different company) & I planted it outside as directed in instructions that came with it. It was so small that even tho I put a tiny wire fence around it for protection from foot traffic & pets; it promptly died & I coudn't even find the dead twig! This plant grows with such limber, wispy, & arching canes, that I plan to let it fall over all in one direction onto a support about 4 ft. away to form an arch with easy reach top & sides for easy berry picking. Hope it gets to that point! It'll be a pretty plant with it's thin stems loaded with tiny pale green leaves covering it. Easy to tell when it needs water since the leaves tend to wilt just a touch, but bounce back to unwilted as soon as watered. It's important to let it dry completely between waterings & provide good drainage.

Nice Plant
Just received the 2 plants I ordered. One looks super healthy, very green(its similar to the plant in the customer pic posted by "Nick Chill"), the other looks like its maybe just coming out of dormancy(looks like a privet once the leaves purple), but some green buds towards the bottom and healthy as well. Both have nice white roots. I repotted them into a slightly larger pot after tickling the roots loose. They will be planted outside once they grow into the larger pots. Both came with nice labels identifying the plant, so Im not left wondering if I got the exact plant I ordered, or a different, but similar, species. Packaged/shipped well, as neither plant had any broken or even bent branches. Thanks for the plants, cant wait till they fruit.Edit(5/12/14)-Well Im going to take a star off because the one I thought was dormant never made it. The other plant is very healthy though.

WOW!!!
I am giving this review 4 stars and will GLADLY revise it to 5 once fruit appears. Let me explain.... I received these 3 plants in early May. 4" plants was a bit generous. They were more like 2.5" plants. Healthy, green, but small. I thought "These plants are goners!" I planted them between blueberry shrubs in a raised 24'x3'x3' bed. Filled with as-organic-as-possible loam, topped by a local landscaper's organic seafood compost. I topped it once with a labelled organic fertilizer. I water them when I can and when my teenagers remember. How could these possibly survive in Maine? Well, they're THRIVING! WTF!!! How did I do this??? I'm like a freakin' gardening genius! Or, more likely, these types of plants like what they're growing in and how they're growing. So far, all three plants have several 3-foot long shoots and they're growing fabulously. I'm stunned. I just got my first flower (Supposedly August to October in my Zone) on one and waiting for fruit like an expectant parent.

So far so good
I was surprised at how it was packaged, the whole plant in a pot, was inside a box full of styrofoam peanuts. There was nothing to keep the plant stable inside the box (even a stick would help) I was very surprised that the branches weren't snapped off from bouncing around in the box during shipping, so far so good. The plant looks healthy and I'm good at keeping plants alive I have 2 Bonsai plants that are still alive after 14 years! and a dracena that is over 12 years old so, if it doesn't grow it's not due to me.

Dog proof
I was going to wait a year or so until writing a review but after my experience I had to write this early. I never do mail order plants but couldn't find this locally. I ordered it the last part of April and they did a great job wrapping and shipping this little guy. I set the plant outside and my new, young dogs thought it needed some help so they removed it from the pot and trimmed the roots for me. With little hope left I planted it in the veggie garden. Well evidently I didn't plant it correctly because one of the dogs jumped the fence and dug it up, not once but twice. Now it is June, my dogs have given up gardening, and the plant is growing and looks very healthy. Very surprised, this is one hardy little plant.

Horrible specimen of a Gojiberry starter
Seriously sub-par ...just got some from Bakersfield farmer online to compare-totally perfect-same probably in year 2 but is same height (12-18") but has been pruned, covered with beautiful leaves, flowers, lots of BERRIES, & still producing..I am in Santa Barbara& got mine for $7.95 + free shipping. ordered 400 cuttings 1-2 yrs old for delivery next march to plant on my farm in Alabama. Dooesn't hurt this is from a Chinese woman who has hundreds of clones from 1-2 yrs old clones.Bottom line: this grower is a big waste of your money unless you want to wait 3 years & pray>mine barely alive & look like sh**
