Guyton and Hall Physiology Review (Guyton Physiology) 2nd Edition

I purchased this book to further my understanding of Guyton in chiropractic college (my background is chemical engineering). Though I read Guyton more than once, took maticulous notes from class and the text, I needed the Guyton Review to help fill the gaps I missed for part 1 board review.I realized I needed this book during the physiology reviews for the chiro part 1 board exam. The questions in the Guyton Review are, in my opinion, based closely to what you would expect to see. They take you to the meat of the chapters so that you know what is important. That is a small price to pay for someone that may not have had the physiology background or needs to review.

This is a must-have for anyone studying with the Guyton and Hall textbook. It has sections with many useful questions that helped with both class and shelf exams. A word of warning, though: some of the questions may be keyed wrong via typo. I remember in the circulatory section a series of some 20 questions that were not keyed right (the listed answer for the question was actually the answer for the next question). Be sure to read the explanation and that won't trip you up.

Only downside? The question sections correlate with the sections from the textbook and not broken down by chapters, which is kind of annoying when we have a chapter or two from a section, but the question quality is great.

This is an excellent review book for medical physiology. The only thing that can be difficult with this book is the division of the questions into units instead of chapters. My class does not go by entire units, instead we are assigned certain chapters, so going through and finding the relevant questions can be time consuming. Other than that slight problem, this book has helped me get through many exam questions and has allowed me to really understand the material. A must for anyone who wishes to fully understand medical physiology.

Bought this with the textbook to help with a self review through physiology. The book is all directed toward a review for the USMLE and does not serve as a traditional textbook review. Is not helpful unless studying for USMLE

Comprises of plenty mcqs and is a good review book. I just don't like the kindle version too much because it's a bit cumbersome scrolling to the correct answers for any question.

The review questions are really helpful in guiding me in what to study. It really helps narrow down the material to what is most important.
