The Seagate Skyhawk 4TB Video Internal Hard Drive is exactly what I needed for my CCTV system. It’s incredibly reliable and provides plenty of storage for all the video footage from my cameras. The performance is top-notch, with fast read and write speeds, and I haven’t experienced any issues with lag or delays when accessing footage. It’s designed specifically for surveillance systems, so it handles continuous video recording with ease. Working very well in my custom designed CCTV hybrid DVR. Review of Seagate Skyhawk 4TB ST4000VX016.Yes its a bit noisy seeking, but mine is in a cabinet in the garage so I don't mind at all, it might be a shade annoying in a quiet environment though.Performance is excellent, it holds up a constant fairly high record rate with easy, all the streams are smooth. Whilst also giving me really quick seeking and replay at the same time, the system just feels smoother and snappier.Beware, there is another version around that is a tiny bit cheaper, the ST4000VXZ16 - note the 'Z' in the code, it has only a quarter of the cache of this version and other changes. For a couple of quid more, this one (without the 'Z') is the one you want.To early to tell on life expectancy, these things do have a really hard life in this application so you have to be a bit realistic.

Exact direct replacement. Ordered Sunday evening arrived Tuesday. CCTV working again.

Absolute rubbish. Man facture date is over a year ago so segate would never honour a warranty. I bought this to replace a failed drive. This drive was more clunky and noisy than the failed one. Segate was a trusted brand years ago. If this IS brand new and not refurb as i think then they've seriously gone down hill since

no issues so far with this drive fitted straight into the new base unit and worked just fine brought it as it is meant for use in security Surveillance Hard Drive would recommend the seller as no issues with this order.

Works in my Ubiquiti Dream Machine SE (UDM-SE) perfectly, no issues. Well apart from the information message that persists in the console "Please verify that your HDD is a CMR drive by checking the device’s spec sheet or the manufacturer website." but I have checked and confirmed this drive is a CMR drive so it can be safely ignored.

Pretty hard on my drives running 24/7 16 cameras but no hitches and vids load up quickly.
