Lovely little whistle...but not loud enough
Lovely little whistle, beautifully made and packaged. I really wanted to like it...I'm a trail runner and I carry a whistle for safety and to keep coyotes at bay. But...I ran a test of this whistle and others in my running bag and this one was a full 10 db quieter than the larger whistles. Traditionally shaped whistles performed the best, and larger ones were louder. Volume matters.

It works well. I've put the whistle on a necklace and wear it everyday. Looks nice and has a useful function.

Terrific size and as loud as the S.O.L. Outdoors Longer Slim Rescue Howler Whistle
I have this and the S.O.L. Outdoors Longer Slim Rescue Howler Whistle, the latter of which is highly recommended all over the internet. Both small and light. So I compared the two using an app ("Decibel X").… There was little difference in decibels: 118 db for this and 123 for the S.O.L. whistle. … So, buy the one that strikes your fancy. They are both quite loud.
