Kreg Exterior pockets screws are great!
I have been using Kreg pocket screws for building door frames for my outdoor sheds. I was surprised that I could order them from Amazon delivered for a lower cost than I could from over the counter at my local hardware store. Win-win! Nice to see these exterior screws at a great price!

This is what you need for 5/4 lumber
I'm a 70-year-old gardening woman who always wanted to learn carpentry but never did. Pocket hole joinery has allowed me to accomplish building my own raised beds quickly and simply. I use 5/4 deck boards and put them together with pocket screws. This is the size screw you need for that. I find a six-inch-high raised bed is plenty deep for what I plant, and I'm trying to foil the deer with optical-illusion 1x5 SFG-style trellised beds set 36" apart on center. I can tent old windows over them to put my winter-sown stuff under until the spring, when I will add on nylon trellis netting. Hopefully, the deer will think trying to walk down those rows to eat all my beans is too dangerous! I live in Georgia, and the deer population here is relentless.

Work great
Used them to secure 2x4 to 3/4 plywood and they work great.

Very solid
Easy to use because of square head, won’t thread out

Pocket holes for screwless surface on decks
Found a kreg deck jig at an estate sale. Used it to replace an old deck surface. Liked it alot. No screw surface and a hidden toe-nail style edge retention. We will see if after shrinking (treated lumber) if the decking remains tight.Used the same for the treads on my stairs. Used risers too. But could not get the kreg jig on the back edge of the tread nearest the stringer. Already had a kreg pocket hole jig and bit so thought I would give it a try. After complete assembly, climbed under the stairs and used the jig. You cannot clamp the jig so you must hold it in place and drill cautiously. The 1 1/2” screws recommended for 5/4 decking worked pretty good. I think 1 5/8” or 1 3/4” would have worked better and provided more penetration in the tread from underneath. But kreg apparently does not produce blue kote screws in those lengths.I built the original deck in 1998. DO NOT PAINT TREATED WOOD DECKING. Vertical railings ok. Not horizontal surfaces. We are going for the two tone deck. White railings and spindles, stained hand rail and decking.1st image is the look we are shooting for two tone. Second is actual decking demonstrating screwless surface. My only concern for the kreg blue cote screw is longevity. No direct water on the screws but seasonal climate and humidity plus the treated lumber. Last screws lasted 2 decades.

Good Stuff ! ! !
I really like the Kreg Blue Kote pocket screws. I use these in my treated lumber projects. Using the pocket screws along with some Titebond 3 exterior wood glue, you have a winning combo. I like that they have different sizes to accommodate whatever the project needs. The use of the exterior grade pockets gives you a nice clean appearance to your outdoor projects.

Quality Hardware
I needed a wood screw that was fairly short but short enough not to pass through the back side of my maters. Same quality as their. Longer pocket screws. This size is generally not available in big box stores.
