Very good with modding, bad without some work
Whether marketed as an Airzone or a Lanard and whatever the coloration scheme, the Triple Shot is a foam blaster with a lot of potential, but potential that is only realized by working on the internals of the blaster.Out of the box stock, this blaster will most likely disappoint. Although it is able to fire a three dart spread, which few other blasters are able to do, range typically averages 10-12ft, with many shots often falling abysmally short. The foam darts included are exceptionally cheaply made, are neither terribly durable nor aerodynamic; the blaster doesn't even include enough to load the entire front turret at once out of the box. The pump action and turret rotation are reasonably smooth, and though the blaster's plastic feels far cheaper than anything made by Nerf, it's still durable enough to withstand some decent abuse.Where the triple shot shows its ultimate is in the context of modding. A powerful spring, large air tube, and surprisingly simple internals allow it to be improved both substantially and easily. With some basic modifications, it is capable of firing a three dart spread to 30-35ft. The internals are very easy to work with, and this can be a great blaster to work on if you have recently begun modding (so maybe it could also be given an educational rating in this context). More dramatic mods can allow it to single fire darts to 90-100ft, for those willing and able to put in rather more time and resources. The Triple Shot will accept most other standard foam darts (Nerf streamlines require some basic modification), which will improve the range substantially. The potentially annoying rear stock can also be made easily removable with some sanding. In summation, the Triple Shot should be avoided if you only intend to use blasters in stock form, as far better alternatives such as the Nerf Roughcut exist; stock form it merits only a one star rating. If however you are willing to open it up and put in even a little bit of work, it can be made into the blaster it should have been from the get go, and easily merits a 4-5 star rating.
