Direct Swap. easy to install.
Installed on my parents 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe. The dealer was going to charge some insane amount to replace the rear hatch shocks. The old ones popped off easy with a flat head screw driver. Cleaned up the attachment points, applied a little grease and installed the new ones. Over all a 5 minute job. These are working well. As this vehicle is 12 years old, I don't recall how the original shocks operated. These new ones require a little more effort to close the rear hatch. No more throwing down the hatch to close using the inside handle to avoid getting hand prints on the outside of the hatch.

Fueron un poquito más largos , lo hizo más duro de cerrar.
Al momento de cerrar la tapa hay que ejercerle mucha fuerza para cerrarla. Ya el cilindro es un poquito más largo que el original.

Easy install
I bought these for a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited. Using a smalI slot screwdriver, I popped the c clips, and pulled off the old strut. The old one on the other side helped to hold the hatch up, but I could have used vise grips on the rod to fully hold the old hatch strut in place..... but I was lazy. Worth going to the tool shop to get the grips, in retrospect. The old one did hold well enough... but I had to hold up the hatch with my shoulder. Anyhow, the new strut popped right in with no need to remove the c clip. Be sure to notice which direction the strut should attach by comparing the old strut. The whole job took less than ten minutes. Now instead of banging my head on the hatch as I load, it opens by itself... once you start the lift. Great!

Fits and operates perfectly
Installed on our 2007 Santa Fe. Used a claw hammer under a rag to protect the car to pry off the old units and the new ones popped right on. Tailgate now opens fully and with authority.

Very Stiff at first
Very easy to install on my Sante Fe. Very stiff at first, but after months of use it seems easier to lower. Recommend, no longer banging my head on the rear lift.
