Excelente
Después de varios meses de uso sólo puedo decir que es un gran objetivo que da una muy buena nitidez. Hasta los 49mm es f4, solamente en 50mm se abre hasta f4.5.

Great Lens, Great Price, Win-Win
This Sigma lens is a great lens. First, the build quality of this lens is superb. I wasn't expecting to receive such a solid feeling lens for the price I paid. The best part about the design is that there is no external zoom, it is all internal. The picture quality of this lens is unbelieveable. For the price, there are few lenses that could even come close to the value of this len in terms of image quality. That said, this isn't a $1,000 lens, but it sure does perform like a lens twice its price. The only thing I would change about this lens if I could is the focusing system. Although it is silent, it could be faster and more accurate. If you shoot a ton of fast subjects, I would recommend looking for a lens that focuses faster. Some might give this lens 4 stars because of this fact, but given the price, it performs 100% as expected in this area.If you are looking for an alternative to a kit lens that is better quality in every way and you dont have the budget for a $500+ lens, look no further.

Lichtstark, sehr Scharf, tolle Verarbeitung - neues Immerdrauf!

A fantastic upgrade to the kit lens.
I purchased this lens after seeking an upgrade from the kit lens that I got with my Canon 60D (18-55mm 3.5-5.6 IS II).My reasons for the purchase were, better build quality, clip-on lens hood and smoother manual focus/zoom ring.Fortunately, my needs were met perfectly with the Sigma 18-50mm, and for a very, very reasonable price. The lens itself comes in a humble, petite cardboard box, with warranty information, documentation, the lens and lens hood.Upon opening and holding the lens, you can immediately feel a large difference between this and the commonly supplied Canon kit lens, the difference in weight, feel and build is night and day, the zoom ring is extremely smooth throughout, the large front element looks lovely, the buttons click nicely into place and the whole thing is covered in a rubbery coating, making it easy to grip and soft on the fingers. The only two negatives to build quality is the almost frictionless manual focusing ring and a slight knocking sound when shaking the lens gently, which is very normal for a lens to do, and even lenses in which I've spent upto £500 on (yes 12-50mm m.zuiko I'm looking at you) have this issue. The lens hood I feel deserves it's own little paragraph before we get into performance, Sigma are kind enough to supply a very quality lens hood with this lens, which is very rare, Canon don't start bundling lens hoods until you spend atleast £500, and even then it's rarer than you'd think! THe lens hood is built from very thick/tough plastic, with rings on the inside to catch dust, it's a petal shaped lens hood and due to the internal focusing of the lens, does not rotate in use, fantastic. The lens hood is mounted by matching the indications on the lens and hood, then twisting into place, it can be mounted in a normal fashion, pointing ouch, giving your lens protection from light outside of your framing, helping reduce lens flare. It can also be mounted the other way, facing towards the camera, however in this fashion it offers no protection and covers the focusing ring, I found this extremely, extremely useful as when I wasn't using the lens hood, I could mount it backwards and keep it on the lens, making it almost impossible to lose aswell as saving space in my bag, you can even use the camera while the lens is mounted this way (useful for indoors when a lens hood isn't needed as much), the zoom ring is still easily accessible when holding the camera in the proper fashion, however the lens hood does block the manual focusing ring from being used. The focusing ring can still turn freely (automatic focusing does work with the lens hood mounted this way) however blocks your fingers from being able to access it.The performance on the lens is quite a treat, quite a fast 2.8-4.5 aperture range, not quite as fast on the long end as the Sigma/Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 lenses (which are 2.8 throughout the zoom range) however still quite a bit faster than the kit lens, which makes it useful for low light situations. The optical stabilization I feel to be average, it did do its job, but I didn't feel it did any better than the kit lens in this regard, focusing with the HSM motor is quieter and faster than the kit lens, I do not miss the 'thunk' noise of the kit lens at all, the focusing (along with the focal range) is all done internally which is a very good thing, and allows a petal hood to be mounted onto the lens.To the meat and gravy of the lens, the actual image quality, other than the aperture benefits (allowing better low light, and shallower depth of field) I did not notice an increase in sharpness, nor did I see a difference in chromatic aberration or colour fringing to the kit lens, which is a good thing! Canon's (and Nikons for that matter) are very, very sharp and very good performers when it comes to image quality, with the sigma I did not lose any quality at all, everything in focus was very sharp, distortion and vignetting were minor, not quite L-lens performance but for the money, extremely good.Overall, for the price, I found this lens to be a great little performer, with fantastic build quality and performance, a definite step-up from the kit lens, a lens you can feel comfortable taking outside with you, the kit lens feels like a toy in comparison.
