Is there a flexible and bendable wire in these or do they have to be tied?

There is a flexible wire inside the tie. You do not need to tie the ends. You simply twist the ends together like a twist tie.

I have had these ties for 4 years and so far, they have not shed at all! I have been extremely pleased with them. Hope this helps!
