Southland Outdoor Power Equipment SEAB8 8" Earth Auger Bit, One Size

I am very pleased with this auger bit. It fit in my Harbor Freight auger perfectly and makes this a post hole digging monster. Last week I bored 15 holes for a wood fence in less than 1 hour! (the 8" holes are much more stable for long runs in windy areas and 2 bags of concrete under a 4x4.)The extension tip on the end really cuts through the clay and bedrock and the larger auger pulls up the bigger rocks much better than the 6".Oddly, the little spring at the neck really seems to help when you hit something hard too. It gives you a little action on the hard stuff rather than throwing the machine around. Typically, drilling 15 post holes on my own would be a killer task....this auger bit, and the ground we were drilling certainly played a factor, but it was easy. The hardest part was physically lifting the machine around.Anyway, it is unusual for me to be happy about any tool, but I felt so happy about this one I had to write a review!

I final got around to using this, almost 3 months after purchasing it. Realized that the fishtail bit on the end was not in the box. I'm trying to figure out how to contact the manufacturer to see about getting one. Can't use it yet. Will update stars as this progresses.

I don't see that the description includes a fishtail point, and I did not receive one. I was hopeful that there would be a new one in box, but there wasn't. Really nice having the torque spring action. Very much better than ones without the torque spring.Works well and is well built.

I was very skeptical purchasing this item with so many reviews on the missing fishtail end, but took a chance and bought it anyway. I'm happy to report the box arrived with the fishtail part included! Overall this bit is a big upgrade from the 6" bit I was using for digging post holes and works well for that purpose.

Great deal to convert your Ice Auger to a dirt Auger easily

Hooked this to a friends auger, he only had a 6" bit. Needed an 8" for holes for our deck. Attached and worked with ease. Highly recommended.
