Good value for the money , great comfort

Perfect but pricey if you want to order a dozen. I do wish these came in bright colors though. I had to go find a youtube review video to figure out how to retract the lead. You have to press the eraser down and push the lead up at the same time. I have been looking for a softer, thicker, darker pencil with retractable eraser and lead. Why is that so hard to find? I use pencils for fine art drawing and longhand writing. I used to use Papermate Sharpwriters but the quality of the new lead formula is now too hard and light. This pencil lead is smooth, dark, and dreamy

As described and easy to use

I've been a Staedtler fan for decades, they make high quality stationery. These pencils are typically excellent quality and have a nice sturdy hand-feel, a tiny bit thicker than a typical wooden pencil. Love the extending eraser. 1.3mm lead is an interesting in-between -- I've been on a .5mm and 2mm kick for a while and decided to give this one a try, it's fun to experiment with the point. Slant it a bit and you can get a nice fine line, if you write more perpendicular to the paper, it's a much thicker line. That might seem obvious to a lot of people but with 2mm it's a thick line no matter what I do so I like having the option for either here. Seems to hold a point well.

I like the thick leads in these pencils. They're tough to break unlike other mechanical pencils. I have a heavy hand when I write so these pencils are perfect for me. They fit my hand comfortably which is great since I have some arthritis in my hands.Fort Ticonderoga pencils are nice but not as strong and you have to keep sharpening them. All you do is click for the lead to advance and you never end up writing with a pencil stub.

I bought this pencil for its thickness to wright in my field journal. Exactly what I needed!
