My two orders, separated by approx two months, in the spring of '22 do not smell unpleasantly. I have seen some bad reviews based on the smell, I don't notice any bad smell.Yes, they do shrink upon washing. It doesn't appear to detract from durability or from the general size.I order nine of these spread across 2 orders earlier in 2022 and I will order them again assuming the same bags are available.The bottom is black in all the bags I received which differ from the pictures.The bottom is double reinforced and I would estimate that I have carried at least 30 lbs in these without an issue. The straps are comfortable compared to the poly plastic in the free grocery store bags. I walk with this these from the store and bags supplied at the store are very uncomfortable so the the feel and length of the straps are a significant consideration. These are easily carried over the shoulder while typical grocery bags are not.

These bags are good quality, hold up well and wash well. They were smaller on the bottom than I thought they would be but hold as much as a brown paper bag at the store (only these won’t break open as you walk into the house). Handles are longer than expected and a plus if you stuff the bag. The other thing I like is that the bags are short enough that when I put in the back of the car, I don’t have to squish them down to fit under a shelf built into my rear storage.The only negative thing I can say is they had a bad smell to them brand new but I just threw them in the wash and solved that problem.

I love these grocery bags. They are sturdy and hold a lot of items (heavy included). I’ve put a half gallon of milk, 4 liter gatorades and produce in 1 bag and had no issues with it. I use them for just about everything now. I would recommending followIng washing and drying instructions - my SO dried 1 set in the dryer (accidentally) and the bags ended up shrinking some. They still work great just are a little smaller. The second set got air dried and didn’t shrink at all.Update: it’s now 2024 and these are still my go to bags. All of them still work great (the handles are long so they are easy to carry) and I haven’t needed to get any other bags.

I really like these bags. They seem sturdy, are large enough for me to stuff more than a few grocery items in... and will cut down on the number of plastic bags floating around. Some have complained about the length of the straps.. and they are a bit long... too long to be used as a 'carry in your hand' type bag, but fair as a shoulder-bag (which is not how I usually carry my groceries)..still, the straps are not a deal-breaker. For the price, I think these are pretty darn reasonable. I haven't washed them yet, so I'm not sure how they'll hold up, but when I do wash them, I plan to launder them in a mesh bag.. just to keep them from snagging and such. I really like them. So... Take your canvas bags...when you go... to the supermarket!

I bought these because I am trying to do better about not using plastic bags. Added bonus, these are blank so I can personalize them with my Silhouette machine! I think you could probably make some really cute bags to sell, if you sell vinyl personalized items. The bottom expands to a good size for carrying groceries or books. I plan to designate one of them for library books and will probably use the other two for groceries. They are very durable and I think they can probably carry a lot of weight. Unlike the cheap reusable bags, these are made of tightly woven canvas and look like they would hold up well to machine washing. It grosses me out that the cheaper reusable bags are not washable, so I really like that these are durable enough to be washed. I may buy another set soon. I really like them.

This is my second time buying these. I used the previous ones constantly for 2 yrs but got a bunch of water in my trunk, forgot to dry it out, and had to throw away everything in it due to mildew. These are large and very well made. I won't use any other bags for shopping. I have washed in cold water with no issues, but the dryer even on low heat will shrink them (to more like normal size grocery bags). I have not had any problems with these arriving with a moldy smell like other reviews said either time I bought them. I am EXTREMELY allergic to mold, so would definitely know. Maybe there was a bad batch?

Wen these arrived, I was so pleased to see how voluminous and well made they were. Once I used them for hauling groceries I discovered a weakness. The handles are so long that the bottoms of the bags tended to drag on the ground. I'm 5' 11", so that was a surprise. My solution? Since they are made of cotton, I thought they might shrink enough. They did. Now I look for long service from the beauties.

These bags could be awesome if the company would pre-shrink them. I washed them on cold and they shrank a lot, got a weird texture to them and got really wrinkly, and the different layers of fabric shrank at different rates so the bottom and straps don't lie flat like they used to. If you want to add vinyl, embroidery or anything like that you HAVE to wash these first if you ever plan to wash them, otherwise the design you put on them will ripple when the fabric shrinks. The top hem of the bag isn't attached to the handles so it folds over and looks bad after washing. The bottom corners are really bulky because the manufacturer didn't cut off the excess gusset fabric. The seaming there isn't strong enough for me to feel comfortable cutting off the excess. There's no little loop to hang the bag up at the checkout, and the bag is heavy and limp so you have to hold it up and hold it open or you can't put anything in. It's hard to put larger oddly shaped stuff into it because holding the bag fully open requires two hands.After I washed the bags I tried tie-dyeing one and it ended up looking pretty cool, but it was tricky. The fabric is really thick and the bag is bulky so it's hard to fold nicely. That makes it way harder to get a good spiral on each side with decent saturation, and you have to use hot, hot water at points which shrinks the bag.

Tengo ya con ellas cerca de un año, quizás más, y han resultado por demás útiles y muy resistentes. He llevado en ellas cerca de 19 kg (bulto de arena para gato), resistiendo bastante bien.

Very spacious and strong fabric.

The bags looked to be good quality fabric, and a nice size, but after using one for three months, fairly light use, the handles have started to come apart from the body of the bag. I put a piece of black card under the hole for taking the picture, three of the four handle straps are the same.

The bags are not solid natural colour. Black straps/ handles and bottom. I cannot print on them as I planned - must return.

Su tamaño es justamente lo que necesitaba, ni tan grandes pero no tan pequeñas. Además que vienen bien reforzadas y son resistentes. La correa es ligeramente un poco larga. Ojalá hubiese en colores pero así son bastante lindas. Encontré lo que buscaba.
