Durable, high function find
This laptop seemed too good to be true - drop resistant, lightweight, high capacity solid state drive, high quality sound system, fast processor, 16 GB RAM, and less than 1200USD. The laptop that arrived was as advertised, and I am very happy with it. There’s not a built in camera which is a positive feature given how easily exploited builtin cameras can be, and the design aesthetic is low key enough that it would not likely be stolen or very noticed in public spaces. Most importantly it works well and is very durable.

Performance is great, service & support is shady at best
Welp, I took my final chance on an ASUS product - much to my chagrin. I guess this is probably my own fault, because I should have noticed that the laughable warranty period on a refurbished product is 90 days. That seems ridiculously short, considering they're repairing an already defunct product.Laptop performed beautiful until it completely bricked on me - no lights, no power, no charging, no nothing. Now I'm on the hook for a $60 diagnostic fee plus repair costs. This is a $1000 investment that I will never make again, at least with this company.Edit: I sent the laptop into ASUS to be diagnosed, and I was sent a $700 bill to fix the laptop (diagnosis: laptop will not power on). I rejected the invoice, and ASUS sent me the laptop back. After I received my laptop back, I plugged the laptop in and after a nightly charge cycle, it booted up just fine. So, either ASUS fixed my laptop at no cost to me and didn't tell me (unlikely) or simply didn't bother to even fix (or plug in!) the laptop but still charge me an outrageous price for nothing.Very shady, ASUS. Performance of the laptop has been at least 4.5/5 stars, but the follow up services (and the deception involved with "fixing it") are barely a 1/5.

Compact, light, goodlooking, and ... picky about charger.
I really enjoy this laptop for its compact size and light weight - basically as light as my son's Macbook , but with a 14" screen instead of 12". We just brought these two plus a 15" MacBook Pro with the fancy new touch bar for a week-long family trip, and it was this ASUS one (albeit now with Debian GNU/Linux installed instead of Windows 10) that everyone kept fighting over. So far, so good!I was a bit disappointed about the charging requirements of this thing though. We brought with us a couple of power strips with USB-C outlets (including one that supports the USB-PD standard), and while both of the Macs were happy with either power source, neither would work for the ASUS. Moreover, at home I have a Acer Monitor with USB-C (not PD though), which curiously supplies 15V to the Macbooks but only 5V to this laptop, so again no charge. Of course the charger that comes with the laptop works fine, as does this and this monitor and this wall charger (all proper PD).Additionally, only the left side port of the laptop can be used for charging.Another thing to be aware of - perhaps mainly for Linux users - is that the touch pad needs a bit of tweaking in order to be usable. By default it is a bit too sensitive, sometimes registering a touch when I rest my palm on the empty space next to the touch pad.Color reproduction on the display is quite good - perhaps a bit on the "warm" side, around D50 or so. You can always calibrate this to your liking with a colorimeter (I got this to fix the output of a really horrible display on a HP Envy , but it comes in handy for just about every computer display). For most users, these may be nitpicks. As I said, I'm overall quite happy with the laptop, it's really quite hard to beat its screen to size and weight ratios.

Not nearly the battery power, poor customer service, died after 1 year.
All I can say, is do not buy from ASUS. My computer stopped charging after about 1yr 1mo of use. Of course, the warranty is one year. After the battery ran down, the computer died and would not boot up. I tried all the troubleshooting I could think of. I paid close to $100 to have it sent to ASUS despite my warranty having run out. I expected a battery issue, not costing much to fix. Instead, it was sent to the wrong facility (they provided me with the shipping label to print, so I have no idea how that happened). They had it for about a month before giving me a quotation to fix that was MORE than what I originally paid for the computer. After back and forth I eventually just had to have them send the broken computer back to me.Also, I'm not sure how they can advertise the battery power that they do. Even while running almost nothing, the battery life is only about 3 hrs...Do not purchase from ASUS. Their customer service is a nightmare.

Small and light. I did get a USB-C hub ...
Small and light. I did get a USB-C hub for more USB 2 ports. I also got the docking station. So have 2 external monitors and the laptop monitor. Works really well. for me. Yes, I do have an external hard drive for backups and for pictures.

3 stars because the rest was great. If this could be fixed
A corner behind and below the screen sort of pops out, and I need to pop it back in. I wished this would not be so. 3 stars because the rest was great. If this could be fixed...which I doubt and wished you guys could correct me...I would change the review. I love Asus though. Best computers ever!

Switched from Dell
This thing is fantastic. I was able to replace my way too heavy Dell 17" laptop. I immediately replaced the 512GB hard drive with a 1TB as I run a lot of virtual machines. My only complaints have been the USB-C power adapters are hard to come by, USB-C docks are crazy expensive, and no built in video camera (which I really don't need). Oh and the battery life is not nearly as long as the claim. But other than that it is a very good laptop to work with thus far.

Great laptop for the price
I needed a very portable laptop, this filled the bill. Enough performance for most users. The construction has held up so far and I am impressed as this laptop travels. I would recommend for the average business user.
