Crochet Amigurumi for Every Occasion: 21 Easy Projects to Celebrate Life's Happy Moments (The Woobles Crochet)

A terrific introduction to crochet.
I have spent years trying to learn how to do a crocheted magic circle and I have never been able to do it correctly. Yet it was only 20 minutes with this book and I was holding a perfect magic circle and creating a Woobles body. The instructions are crystal clear with illustrative photos and a generous use of white space. The patterns refer to a page number to review a technique, so you don't have to flip around in the book. The patterns are cute, and while I will probably make a few of them, I am also inspired to make my own designs. This is a great book for beginning animigurumists.

Great to Get your Hand into Crocheting Cute Stuff
The "Woobles" brand is designed to start out people who have never held a crochet hook before, or have limited experience. The designs are made to use simple elements that can be picked up by a beginner. The focus is that anyone can do it.The first section has really clear pictures and instructions on how to do different stitches and other finishing techniques, as well as how to read patterns- basically everything you need to know. If you are still struggling, they have a youtube with a ton of quick instructional videos. Amigurumi is a lot of variations on the same basic shapes, so once you are comfortable with them you can move on to other patterns. When starting out I would flip from the project I was working on back to the page showing how to do the stitch, so I could be sure I was doing each part right.Personally, I had learned some crochet from my grandmother, but just some basics for a flat blanket. And I learned I was doing some things wrong. This book made me comfortable crocheting in the round and stitching pieces together. The star was one of my favorite patterns starting out. It's a flat pattern with a lot of increases and decreases (it's 2 stars sewn together in a sandwich), so if you're not comfortable with something round start there and just pay close attention to each row. It still starts with a magic circle, which you use for round pieces too.I do have to say, when you're starting out, don't be afraid to take apart and redo what you're working on many times. Part of it is just training your hands to do the right thing. You will learn more if you're not just committed to finishing, but are practicing understanding the stitches. Also don't be afraid to use lots of stitch markers! There is also an excellent support group on Facebook.Another note, the Woobles also have a variety of kits that include everything you need to do a specific pattern. Some of their kit patterns (some were limited edition or retired) are featured in this book (such as the cactus and dinosaur), while other patterns are only in the book. They still have a lot of animal kit patterns that are not in the book, so if you like their patterns there are still more you can find. Some of those patterns (but not all) are sold individually if you don't want a full kit.

Great Book. Get the spiral version if you can!
I have been working my way through the Woobles and love how easy it was to learn to make Amigurumi animal figures. The patterns are so easy to read, and there are step by step tutorials in the book and videos online. The videos btw, are great. They go slowly and show you every step of the process without feeling like they're talking down to you. This book gives even more patterns and fun little add ons. I wanted to get it originally from the Woobles website, but they were sold out. So finding it from this seller was a great find. Also, they offer the book with a spiral binding, so you can lay the book flat making it so much easier to read the pages while you work on the pattern. If you ever wanted to dip your toes into crochet, I firmly suggest either getting one of the Wooble kits or get this book and some of the easy peasy yarn they use. If you're a new comer, regular yarn is hard to see your rows in. And the easy peasy yarn looks great for these amigurumi figures.

Great book! Very clear patterns, instructions, etc.
The media could not be loaded. Love it! I've already made a bee from this book, the dinosaur, and I drastically changed the pattern for the potpourri octopus to not have an open stomach for potpourri along with many other changes. I've made LOTS of woobles. I've bought a surplus of their different kits and made all of them I've bought. 10/10. Love my woobles

Great book
Definitely worth the money! This book taught my daughter how to crochet. Now she doesn't stop crocheting and comes up with things on her own.

Justine Tiu really worked hard to bring you some of the cutest amigurumi figures!
If you're looking for a foot into amigurumi, start with this book!!Now let me tell you about the product you're looking at. It comes with oodles of instructions. Not just on how to make the Woobles themselves, but how to really improve your overall work. There is something in here for everyone, even those who are advanced. The instructions in this book can carry over to other aspects of crochet. There are also QR codes scattered through the book that will direct you to video tutorials on their Woobles website in case you are stuck and you need a bit of help.I know you may be thinking that Woobles are just for children, but you're wrong! There are instructions on how to make Wally the Koala, who likes to hang off the neck of your wine bottle! Perhaps that's not your cup of tea though. You can make Sam the Sloth, who enjoys holding onto crochet balloons (or potentially lollies). There are instructions for a few accessories that you can make for your Woobles as well!My book came slightly damaged even though it was shipped in a box, but the damage is negligible. I'm just a bit meticulous with my items, and really like them to be tip-top shape. That's the only reason I gave it 4/5 stars.

So cute and great for beginners
I learned to crochet from a Woobles kit and this book is perfect if you want to make more! The patterns are easy to read and there are quick guides at the beginning of the book for various techniques when you need a refresher.
