Great way to avoid paying hundreds of dollars for rare Amiibos
So I just got this today to get Epona in BoW with the Link amiibo and it worked perfectly! I think alot of reviewers didn't know how to use it so here is how it works:You MUST put the amiibo files in this location for a PC...I don't have a mac so sorry:C:/Users/(YOUR USERNAME)/Powersaves For AMIIBONOT C:/Program Files/Powersaves For AMIIBO.The amiibo files will not display if you place them in the wrong folder. All you need to do is either one of these steps.Use step 1 if your going to backup an Amiibo. If your not going to backup a Amiibo skip to step 2.1. Use one of your Amiibos on the PowerSaves device and load up the program and backup your Amiibo and then it will create a folder in that directory. If your not backing up an Amiibo follow this step which is step 2. If you did backup an Amiibo skip to step 4.2. Just copy this text "Powersaves For AMIIBO"COPY EVERYTHING BUT THE QUOTESThen go to C:/Users/(YOUR USERNAME)3. Right click and create a new folder a rename it to what you copied above WITHOUT QUOTES "Powersaves For AMIIBO".4. Go into the folder you just created or that it auto created when you backed up your Amiibo.5. You can now start dragging in the bin files there.6. Now check the powersaves program tab and they should be there. If not, close and re-open the program.

2 years later and it still works as advertised.
I've been worried about this product before it arrived to me as I've heard of situations and stories that after a couple of uses and a couple of months that it would stop working.I've used it multiple times over the years om 3DS games, Wii U games, and Switch games. Used Datel and other saves from official amiibos and it works exactly as it should. I even worked with files from amiibo cards. The only issue I would say the product has is sometimes it would flicker back and forth between being able to read the Powertag when you place it on the reader. Sometimes it's instant while other times it might take probably 10 to 30 seconds to read. Other than that, it works great. No more needing to waste money on overpriced DLC Toys that are hard to find out in the stores because buying the things I'm interested in games in the form of a digital product I guess is so last-gen to Nintendo.

Affordable option to access Amiibo features in games that lock features behind Amiibo.
Very surprised I was still able to find this available for purchase. Great product.

I really should have listened to the negative reviews
This device definitely does have a limited number of saves to the PowerTag it's not random dice roll on quality control, they have a set limit. Anyone who uses that lil powertag and frequently saves to it will be in the same issue.. the puck just stops working and being recognized by the switch or the reader. I got approx. 50 rewrites (though I wasn't counting, I'm sure it was around that few) It failed by very first night of owning it. I refuse to go buy 10 more power tags for 35 bucks plus shipping from UK... especially since I know they will fail too. I keep hearing people sayin N2 Elite is a better device. I should have done more homework and started there first and save time and money. What a waste!

Works as described with the included PowerTag
I purchased this Datel Action Replay PowerSaves for Amiibo because I have a 20-hearts Wolf Link Amiibo that I wanted to back up. The product comes in a nice box so it would make a great gift. It includes the NFC reader, USB cable, and the PowerTag puck. All components feel extremely cheap, especially given the price tag, so I am being very careful with it as I think it will break easily. I have a Mac, and I was able to use the PowerSaves with my Mac by installing the App from their website. Once installed, I plugged in the reader, placed my Amiibo on it, and it recognized it as Wolf Link and found my save Data from Twilight Princess Wii U. I was able to save the data to my computer, so it all worked perfectly. I bought NFC cards to write Amiibo data to so I could have a physical backup, but I found out that you can't do that with this PowerSaves product. It will only upload data to the source it came from. The one exception is the PowerTags, which I assume is their way of making money on the product because they are very expensive. With the PowerTag, I was able to download an Animal Crossing card to the PowerTag and use it in New Leaf. The process was simple and worked exactly as it should. It is a shame that they put an artificial block on writing data to anything except the PowerTag because this would be a 10 out of 5 star product. As is, I do highly recommend it to anyone who wants to back up their Amiibo data. 4/5 stars

It works!
It works! I was very skeptical, but if you watch some YouTube videos of how to use it correctly it works. I had a hard time figuring out how to save it in my computer and where to put the files, but like I said go to YouTube and watch videos of people telling you how to use it. I recommend the one Relyea he explaind it perfectly. And Im able to use it for animal crossing. Can't wait to try it in other games like Zelda. I will definitely keep using it and make an update of how it keeps working. If you want to save money on amiibos, buy this instead!

it works sort of
First off the three star rating is not for the powersaves device but is for the way it arrived. When it got here I opened it and the product box was completely destroyed and ripped open there was also missing paperwork to let you know what to do with it or how to use it. I suspect it was already used and returned or got like that during transit but that doesn't explain the missing paperwork. Now on to the powersave device It works to a point you have to have an amiibo to use it which I didn't know. I had to hunt down the manual online because it didn't come with one. I'd say be prepared to do alot of searching online to get this working if you don't get paperwork with it. I have only tried it in mario kart for wii u and it worked. haven't tried it for the switch yet so can't say if it works on that.
