This Doggie Biome test was easy enough to use. Collect a poop sample, seal, and send. You do have to create a pet profile, input some information, and complete a questionnaire about your dog which I don't necessarily like because is it going to change the results of the test? I feel like the poop is the poop and I want to be told about that without offering the symptoms.It took about two weeks to get the results, and then what felt like another two weeks to interpret them lol. There is a ton of information included, so I really had to sit down and try to understand. With that, they of course offer the supplements that they sell and recommend for that specific microbiome result and boyyyy some are pretty dang expensive.Overall, I am glad we did the test and will probably perform another in the future to see if the changes we have made are making a difference.

Unfortunately I can't recommend this product. My dog was having issues with itchy ears/skin, paw-licking, off and on diarrhea. I ordered the test, had the consult and bought the Gut Restore supplement and digestive enzyme. The enzyme seemed to be helping a little as I noticed less itchiness, but then I realized I had also switched his protein from beef to turkey and that was probably the more likely reason. Since my dog is sensitive, I followed the recommendations to gradually increase the supplement using the empty capsules to make 1/2, 1/3, 2/3 doses. He seemed to tolerate this OK. Then he was on the full dose for about 2 weeks. I didn't see any benefits but I knew it could take some time. Then his paw licking started to become worse, he developed an infection, had to take antibiotics and the vet recommended probiotics, but Animal Biome says not to take probiotics with their supplement. He got worse. Developed terrible diarrhea, periodically wouldn't eat, started to eat only grass. We went through several cycles of metronidazole for the diarrhea. He continued to scratch at his skin/ears and lick his paws. Finally, I realized the one thing we hadn't addressed was being on the Gut Restore. In order to follow our vet's recommendations, we had to discontinue it. After spending $400+, not seeing any benefits and a worsening of our dog's symptoms, I regret this decision. If you do decide to use this product, make sure you are doing it under the guidance of a vet.

This test has helped us to find the right probiotics to treat the specific bad bacteria existing in my dog's gut. Lots of interesting and informative information. Brought the results to our veterinarian to help make a game plan to combat my dog's IBS. Will order again to retest and see if the diet changes we made are helping her gut.

The information you receive from this test can be helpful. I recommend getting the free consult after the results come back. My dog was on the ftt pills they sell for a couple of months & so far they seem to have helped. Not a cure but helpful

I was shocked when the test revealed how seriously out of balance my dogs’ microbiome was. I was provided a list of what her microbiome contained and what it didn’t contain. I was also provided with suggestions of what to add to her diet to “balance” her microbiome. It has been about seven months and I’ve made some changes to her diet as recommended by AnimalBiome. I’ve just repeated the test and am awaiting the results.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but the results were very interesting and accurate I believe. Advice was offered and products are available as well as supermarket items recommended. This is helped my dog tremendously
