This product was exactly what I wanted and it was shipped perfectly! Bigger size and cheaper than it would have been in a store..helps when you can't get it out here!

I have been dying my hair red at home for over a year. However each colour I tried looked beautiful for three days and quickly started to fade. These box colours did not cover my greys even if they claimed to cover 100% grey. I decided to try Ion 4IR from Sally's and I LOVE it! My greys are completely covered and the colour is the exact same as on the swatch in the store. It doesn't have a strong odor either and it is very easy to apply. Before colouring my hair, I used the Ion pre-color treatment since it is a porosity equalizer that helps make sure the color is even from roots to ends. I also used the after color treatment to close the cuticle once you rinse the color out. Just a little side note to say that it seems very dark for the first couple of days but once you wash you hair it becomes perfect. I also like the fact that it doesn't bleed for very long. I found that the box dyes would bleed for at least 3-4 days and would come off on my towels for a while. This color doesn't. Thanks! Happy colouring!

If it takes you more than two bottles, I sincerely doubt you used this product correctly... Probably didn't use nearly enough developer. How could you find a tub big enough to hold 6 of these and 12 oz of developer?? I mean, if you're applying this straight to your hair, that's why it didn't work. There are instructions included... Anyway, like with any red color, it will fade with each wash. It's just going to happen. But it does give the color it shows on the swatch, so if that's what you're going for, go for it! You may have to use a high developer if your hair is a light brown/dark blonde or bleach it first if it's darker to get the color it shows. Red is a lot of maintenance. I prefer the next-darker color myself, but I'm giving it five stars because it does what it says it does. Happy tinting!
