Works like a champ! Blows away the Netgear POE adapter.
I have a computer in my detached garage workshop. Previously I tried using a Netgear POE adapter and the speed was barely usable for web browsing. I also stream music in the garage and the Linksys was constantly dropping the signal between the main unit and the remote.I have a couple of other TP-Link products and a friend of mine suggested that I try this POE adapter. He’s had good luck with it in a similar detached garage setup. The setup was super easy and the iPhone app works slick. The upload speed on Speedtedt.net is about 40mbps where the download speed is around 12 mbps. Pretty amazing for running over the AC power line. I figure the wire distance between the transmitter and receiver is about 150 feet, and the receiver is on a sub panel, so there are two circuit breakers involved. The WiFi in the garage is rock solid with this adapter. A very useful product at a fair price.

Great so far
So far I'm happy with it.1. The instructions say to sync them the first time with outlets near each other. I tried two outlets in the same room and they wouldn't sync. You can imagine the unpleasant feeling that produced. However, I moved one of them to the hallway and they instantly synced. I then moved one upstairs and connected the TV to it.2. I'm getting up to 15Mbps according to the Amazon app on the TV, which is weird (and suspicious) because I never get such good number on my PC. However, there are many reasons why the PC might not show such high numbers. Or the Amazon app could be crazy.3. I've streamed a few movies through it and they played in HD without any buffering or stuttering.4. I have not yet tried connecting two things to a single outlet brick so I don't know how that affects things.5. It comes with two Ethernet cables that are roughly six feet long.6. They do not block the upper outlet if you use the bottom one.7. It may have degraded the quality of signal from my HD antenna because channels don't come in as well after connecting these bricks. However, I haven't tried adjusting the antenna so it could be a minor thing. It could also just be a coincidence completely unrelated to these bricks.8. I have not had them long enough to say anything about durability.I suspect that there are many factors that could cause some people to have bad experiences with these; the primary one being the wiring in your house. Even in my case there was the weirdness I mentioned in #1. All I can say is that, if they work, they seem to work very well.

Easy and intutive to install - but not when adding additional units
Very easy to use. I put one end in the garage and connected it to my Roku. The other end is in the house next to my network switch. I plugged it in and it worked right off the bat. Video streaming in the garage is now reliable and fast. I do have a wireless mesh network, so coverage was not the issue. The hard wired connection is much more reliable.Update - 2019/04/02 I added 2 more units. It was not as easy. Units kept going off line. I could not add product by using power key. Just got an error message stating unable to add. Gee thanks. I couldn't get more than 2 devices up at one time. Each device was registered but would not play nice with more than 2 plugged in. Some device would go offline. I finally unplugged all devices and plugged them in one at a time. That got all four devices up. Seems stable once they see each other. So I downgraded from 5 to 4 stars.

Works great in my apartment for streaming!
Since moving into my apartment and cutting the cord I struggled with what I could do to improve my wireless connection from my office where my router and computer is to my living room. My TV comes from the HDHomerun and worked fantastic on my computer that is connected directly to the router via Ethernet. But the streaming to the living room where I actually watch TV was abysmal with frequent cut outs and poor latency. My only real solution would of been stop using wireless and running an Ethernet cable out to the living room however since this is an apartment my options are limited and frankly it wouldn't have looked appealing having a cable along the top corner of the hallway.I looked into the TP-link powerline's and decided that this was the best one for my needs. And, I am very pleased to say it has worked extremely well for the last 3 months. The powerline gives me excellent speeds and it hasn't disconnected since I hooked it up.I can highly recommend it for streaming purposes as it has worked very well for my needs.

Not as fast as it wants to be
It works as advertised, very easy to setup and get going. However, the speed is nowhere near advertised. The tpPLC utility says that the link is good for about 690 Mbps, while I only get about 189 Mbps when downloading from my server, while upload is just about 150 Mbps.On the same outlet, the link is 1762 Mbps, but the transfer is only about 360 Mbit.My wireless is faster than this when at 400 Mbps. Throwing a cable between the server and the router and I'm up at 1150 Mbps transfer speed. It may be an alternative if you don't care about speed, but I do and this is going back.

Failed after 6 hours
This product was good at first. Setting it up was plug and play, and was easy to install the software. Speeds cap around 100 rather than the 2000 mbps advertised but it got my games better ping an not much packet loss. However around the 6 hour mark of its arrival, the device lost connection with the main powerline and I unplugged and plugged it back into the socket which after doing, the powerline wouldn’t show any lights nor made a connection to the main powerline. I have tried everything from rebooting, resetting, and trying to pair it again, however, nothing would work and the lights would still show nothing. I wouldn’t recommend this product. If you are thinking about getting this one, do not. Get the one with the power pass through. Bought and tested that one and had no issues after 6 hours unlike this one.
