Love this printer
This model replaced an earlier one I had that failed. Luckily, I had also purchased a 3 yr warranty and when I filed the claim on the old one, they sent me a gift card which I used to purchase this model. I was already accustomed to the way an Epson printer worked and did not want to try a different brand. I like that the inks are separate so you only replace the ones that are empty. Also, that there are third party cartridges available that actually work. What I don't like is that Epson keeps changing the cartridge so if you happen to have one left from an older model, it will not work in the newer model. I would recommend always getting the extra warranty (they're so cheap) just in case the printer fails outside of mfr warranty (which my first one did). It's a great little printer and takes up very little space.I do not print a lot but when I need to I want a reliable printer ready to do the job. This one does.

Worst designed printer (hardware and software) I've ever owned
I absolutely hate this printer. I needed a new, cheap printer because mine broke when I moved a few states away. I'm now in law school, and so there's a lot of documents I have to print from home, or drafts I need to mark up, etc. Let me tell you: you do not want this printer under any means! It's slow. It can only print on one side. It constantly jams/get error messages. The place that holds paper wasn't made to hold less than like 20 thick sheets, because if you load it, the paper will flop over, suck into the machine wrong, and cause a huge error. Basically you have to baby it the entire time if you want it to print, which you'll be doing anyway while simultaneously clicking "continue print" because you have to feed it the one-sided printed sheets back through to get double-sided printing. Then, you will have to reset the cartridges TWICE (I know I did), and practice alignment, fix the cartirdge holding head thing, 5 different manual resets and you'll have to do it multiple times to ever try and make this piece of junk work again. It runs out of ink in LESS THAN 100 PIECES OF PAPER, which is funny because a big selling point is "blah, blah, blah load paper less it holds 100 sheets." Now maybe this wouldn't be SO annoying if it CONTINUED TO PRINT. When it gets low ink it just REFUSES to print. There is no printing on lower quantities of ink, getting greyer printing, deciding to print in another color/black depending which of your cartridges has run out. It literally won't print at all and refuses to print anything for you without override. Doesn't need to look perfect? Doesn't matter. Cartridge isn't all the way empty? Throw away your money. Deadlines? You're screwed. Also, it took me like an hour and a half to get wifi working, and I had to reset my wifi network and change the password (and it wasn't user error because I worked IT and am honestly pretty good with tech). I wish I could return this and just spend like $20 more because trust me, it'd be worth it. But you know, I've bought paper, cartridges, it takes however many days to process - huge pain and I'm so busy.

Perfect for My Home Printer/Scanner
Replaced a 12-year-old HP with similar functions that I had gotten free with a new iMac rebate. My how technology has improved! The Epson is smaller, faster and feeds paper better. It scans well and prints beautifully (B&W is all I've done). It can print very close to the edge of paper which is fantastic. My modern Mac automatically connected with correct drivers as soon as I plugged in the USB (I'm not using WiFi). I did not install any software from the CD nor the website.I both scan and print perhaps five-to-ten documents a month. This printer was affordable, takes up little space on my desk, and works perfectly for me.

Great Support for WiFi setup
I bought this printer to replace a very old printer that would no longer connect to wifi after a recent wifi and modem upgrade. My printing needs are very low volume, so I wanted something inexpensive & small.I downloaded the needed software from the Epson site and found the install wizard to be easy and intuitive to follow, and had no problem connecting the printer to my home network, but received an error message and setup failed to install as a printer device on the Windows 10 laptop. The Windows printer setting showed the printer but could not find the driver, even though I had downloaded and installed all drivers. I was frustrated but found I could easily set up for remote printing as a workaround. However, I still wanted a direct computer-to-printer connection, so I called the tech support line listed on the Epson web site. The tech support voicemail system very quickly routed me to the right place for help with wi-fi setup, and my wait time on hold was less than 2 minutes. The tech who took my call was very knowledgable and able to quide me thorugh the steps to get things set up properly within about 10-15 minutes. So I would give 5 stars for tech support -- I ran into a problem, and was able to get help right away and my problem was solved. Everything about the printer also seems to function well -- printing, scanning, etc.The only reason that I am giving 4 stars for now is that I haven't had the printer long enough to judge how well it functions over time, and also I think from other reviews that some buyers have unrealistic expectations from a budget-level printer. Of course replacing ink costs more than the printer --that's because the printer is so cheap! And that is true for any cheap inkjet printer, and is how the companies recover their costs because a printer/scanner is a complicated piece of hardware -- and there are limits as to what anyone can reasonably expect for a printer that retails for under $50. But if you don't want to pay more for ink than for the printer, you could start with a more expensive printer -- and research the price of replacement ink before you buy.If this printer lasts me 2 years I will be delighted If I want a robust, office-quality printer, then I'll pay for one. This seems to be a good little printer, easy to set up and install, with good support - a good choice for light home use or for a kid's dorm room.
