Great cutter.
Got this for a kitchen tile job. Laying 12x24 format porcelain tiles. The are 1/4" think. I had read oa few of the poor reviews complaining about the cut quality and what have you but decided to give it a shot anyway. Figured if it did not work I could return it or at worst, eat $130.Turns out I have no wish to return it. The cutter works as advertised. I have 2hp wet saw that I have used to lay close to 15,000 sq ft of tile over various jobs. This would have made that work soooo much easier. A straight cut on a wet saw would take a few min. Pick up the tile, go out side, line it up and start cutting. A 24" cut can take a min or two sometimes. Wit this cutter, turn to your right, put the tile on the cutter, line it up, score it and snap it. Ripping a 24" tile takes about 15 seconds.I broke 1 tile, the first one I cut and that was my fault. I scored it twice and on the second score it snapped. Note to self.... score once and snap. The edges are clean (as clean as my wet saw). Now sharp edges, at least on the tile I am using on this job. I sometimes have to look twice to see which is the cut edge.Bottom line, great cutter, huge time saver and I would have no problem recommending this to someone else.

Worth Every Penny!
Pros:This Tile Cutter can cut more length than advertised size (35"). This cutter can cut and snap 36" inch tile porcelain planks. It is very LightweightIt feels very DurableThe cost for the cutter is $100.00 compared to all other tile cutters that cut 36" inch tiles. The other tile cutters range from $350 to $600 when you look at cutting a 36" inch size tile.Name Brand - QEP is an old tile name brand that has been around a long time.Cons:The middle Spine is raised a little too high. The tile wobbles on the spine a little bit.The rubber on the tray feels cheap, but we'll see how long it lasts, only time will tell. Who knows!?This tile cutter is definitely worth the price and highly recommended. I've used this tile cutter for large format 12x24 tiles and porcelain planks as these types of tile are the most popular as of right now (2016). We have cut and set over 5000 square feet with this tile cutter/snapper. As of now we love it. This is now definitely our go to tile cutter/snapper for all of our tile projects!Check this video out on you tube. This is the only video review that I found on youtube , take a look.QEP $100 LARGE TILE CUTTER

Will chip porcelain tiles almost every time.
It’s unfortunate to say that this was an absolute waste of money. I made sure I read and watched many reviews before I bought the product and compared many different models of many different brands. The tile in these pictures are porcelain only a quarter of an inch thick this product was said to be able to rip up to 24 inch tiles perfectly therefore cross cutting should be a breeze with this tile cutter. This is an allegedly professional grade product. As you can see next to my right angle the cross cut didn’t even cut perfectly straight more than I’m 50% of the times I cut wound up chipping on along the cut. I am very upset with myself that I waited several months after purchasing before I was able to actually use the tile cutter and it is past the date of being able to return it… Now I have $160 piece of garbage… Maybe it will cut ceramic no problem definitely wouldn’t spend the money to use it on porcelain tiles tiles which I might add were not cheap at all… Save your money on a more expensive product. And do yourself a favor and make sure you use it immediately so when you see a product isn’t working like it it’s advertised you can return it and get your money back.

Does what it should.
I was using this tile cutter to cut 16x24 tiles. I works well on cuts shorter than about 20 inches, but it sometimes doesn't break cleanly with a full 24 inch cut. The ceramic tile that I was cutting had a course texture, so it actually took two or three scores with good pressure to get clean breaks. It would be nice if it had swing out supports for the tile, but the legs work most of the time. It has saved me a lot of time in comparison to the wet saw I was considering using; making runs outside would have doubled or tripled the time to make the cuts.

Definitely worthwhile for any tile project
Works better for straight cuts and rips than a saw... Used this on both porcelain and glass tile... Fast, easy and remarkably clean cuts. used on 12x24 porcelain floor tiles and 6x3 inch glass wall tiles.... Scoring wheel shows no sign of degradation after doing a bit over 500 square feet... You have to keep the break area clean though or your cuts will turn into shatters instead of clean breaks. Thinking if people are seeing rapid scoring wheel degradation that they may be pushing down too hard when scoring... it requires firm pressure, but press too hard and you won't be happy with your results.I was surprised that this made a much nicer cut on glass than a saw... much less polishing needed saved a ton of work.Never thought this simple tool would be better than a saw, but it is a major time saver and easy as heck to use. Still need a saw for compound cuts and smaller rips, but this will save you a ton of time for the simple stuff.
