Greek Trata Canned Anchovies From the Aegean Sea Anchovy in Olive Oil 100g

After a major disappointment with another brand of anchovies, I was unsure if I'd ever get anchovies again. (they truly were that gross) Then, I bumped into these Trata anchovies sold by greekshops (here on amazon). --With shipping, these do appear rather pricy for anchovies, BUT these are a product from Greece, caught and prepared in Greece...no hidden or 2 country BS.I've been only using anchovies in recipes for roughly 20 yrs. I never felt the urge to eat them alone, since they usually tend to be very salty...much too salty for my taste, outside of using as an "ingredient".First thoughts with Trata...I figured these were worth a shot trying, even at the $4.50 per can. I don't have specialty shops nearby, so for me, this is very fair on price vs. traveling hours to find these.Packaging and presentation is perfect. Once open, the aroma of fresh anchovies and olive oil...perfect! The fish, still with their skins are uniformly placed in the can...beautiful, clean and firm. I was easily able to press/flake these with a fork to add in my stuffed egg recipe. --The eggs turned out even better than with other anchovy brands. The only change I made was adding a little more sea salt to the recipe.I even tasted one alone...wow, these do have a very nice flavor! I am sold on this brand and very happy to find a replacement. I love how fresh these smell out of the can. --Its almost like tasting a fine wine...it's atmosphere seems as if it were infused inside the aroma and flavor of these anchovies. I've never been this impressed with any anchovy I've tried.I'd even recommend these to those who like very salty anchovies...just roll them in sea salt! =)) These are very much worth trying, in my opinion.
