T-fal, FR702D51, EZ Clean Deep Fryer 1.8 L , Stainless Steel

I think the unit is good. But the packaging needs a lot of improvement. It came with air pillows which I think was not enough. So when I received the unit box, the box packaging is very noisy and some items loose inside. And After my first use last night, the oil box was dripping. So I checked if there was something loose or some hole so I found out there was crack on the oil box bottom and another thing is that the Oil Box Cap at the back is also missing. It could be from the packaging issue before or since it is Used-VERY Good Condition that is the reason why there is crack or missing parts like the oil box lid. Well either way, I love the product thats why I'll do something about the crack and oil box lid. Other than these issue, all in all, I like the way all items are separable and are very good condition.One other thing is that the manual does not explain how do you clean the heating element. I guess, it should be same as the first initial use procedure to use damp cloth and then dry.

Easy to use and clean. Filters the oil well. It has a fine screen for filtering. I see other comments with melting plastic oil bin. I think this may be human error. I could be wrong. Oil must be cool, then filter it. Then take out heating element, basket, and lid. Basket and lid can go into hot suds. The heating element part can be cleaned...don’t submerge the control area. I used peanut oil 5 times with different foods...(Deep fried shrimp, French Fries, Beef patty tacos, Mozzarella sticks, and mushrooms. I never noticed cross contamination of food, plus after 3 frys the oil level barely changed! ***I give the fryer 5STARS for all of the above, *****BUT I give it 1 STAR for inconsistency in temperature. Very disappointed in this. I tested this fryer with TWO CALIBRATED candy thermometers at the high setting of 374deg. I didn’t touch any part of the bowl or elements. I regret to tell you that I never got to 374 deg. I only got to 360 deg on one thermometer and 365 on the other. Not understanding this and disappointed with this result.

Love everything about this. The size is a little big but that's ok.

Just got my T-fal compact deep fryer yesterday and cooked up some fried clams. They were great! This compact machine is built with the same quality as the larger version with the same 1,700 watts. This machine is the perfect size for 1-2 people. Does a great job and the footprint is about the same as a 4 slice toaster. I expect this machine will last every bit as long as my old T-fal lasted, which was so long ago I truly can't remember when I bought it...maybe 15-20 yrs ago
