Company stands by warranty, recommend getting extended warranty
I bought this dehumidifier for my 2000 sq. ft. basement last December. It did a great job lowering my humidity and I really like the pump feature as it drains out my AC unit drain continuously. I do not find it to be any noisier than a typical small AC unit (which it actually is). It ran flawlessly for 10 months with little attention (have to clean out water bucket occasionally), then... it failed.I saw that with my instructions, which I kept taped to the unit back, It came with a one year warranty. I emailed a copy of my Amazon invoice and a description of the unit failure to the customer service email on the Warranty form, and followed up with a phone call. Joseph, at customer service, answered the phone and I got an immediate email notice that my unit would be replaced. Received replacement today, 3 days after my call! Fantastic customer service. After much research in the internet, I find a large portion of dehumidifiers fail in a year or two, so next time I have to buy a replacement, and I'm sure I will, I will get this one, but with an extended warranty. I would buy this unit from this company again as they stand by their warranty.

An excellent choice
I put this in my crawl space. I raised it on blocks and used the gravity fed drain, a garden hose. The hose outlet is about 10" from the base of the unit. Just be sure that the hose never goes higher than the drain. Even when using the gravity fed drain your tank may still fill. The cooling coils in the unit can cool the area above the tank causing condensation; intermittent drips can eventually fill the tank. No problem, just hook up the provided hose to the pump, turn on the pump and it will take care of the problem. The pump only turns on when it reaches a high level in the tank so electric is not wasted. One thing that surprised me is that the unit puts out fairly warm air, on normal (low) it's not noisy at all.I'm impressed with all the practical features this unit has. I'm glad I got the version with the pump.

A good dehumidifier...
None of these comments are show-stoppers, and the unit works very well overall. This dehumidifier is reasonably quiet, which is good since it needs to sit in our kitchen. It does a good job removing humidity. We've had it running for a week now with no problems. You can talk on the phone standing right next to it and hear just fine. The directions are a little convoluted, but here's a simple version: If you are using the pump, push the small tube into the small hole in the back of the unit. Facing the back of the unit, the hold is at the very bottom on the right. That's it - push the tube in hard and you're done. If you're using gravity feed, such as into a sink or drain, use the hose adapter, which is included and is shipped in the water tank. It connects through the larger hole in the back of the unit. I don't use this option, so can't offer details on connecting it. Two suggestions for the manufacturer: Bring the power cord and pump outlet out through the side of the unit so that the unit can sit flush against a wall. If you do this, it would be good to include a simple bracket for hanging the unit on a wall. One interesting thing is the 'powerful 16-watt pump' is very slow at pumping the water out of the tank. I wasn't expecting a fire hose, but the water comes out in little more than drips. It does work though, and has run all week without interruption or problem.Overall a very good dehumidifier that could be slightly better...Also tested the auto-restart function by unplugging the unit for a few minutes, and it restarted at the same settings with no problem. This is an important feature for us as the unit is in a vacation home which gets many power failures.UPDATE 9/22/17: If you need to have this up against a wall like I do, there is a solution: The cord bends just fine, but the hose/tubing does not. You can pick up a 1/4" Union Elbow at Home Depot for a few bucks. It's made by John Guest, sku is 707910 part PL-3022. Cut a short piece of tubing off that included with the dehumidifier. Push one end into the dehumidifier, the other end into the elbow, then push the end of the long tubing into the other end of the elbow. The dehumidifier will now sit comfortably about an inch and a half from a wall, but without worry of kinking or breaking the tubing. You can also wrap any spare cord into the cord holder for a nice clean-looking job.

Works like a champ!! Excellent value!
We live in an old house with a French drain in the basement. Heavy rains and snow melts result in water retention. This does an amazing job drying things up. There are 3 options for water removal. Choose what works best for you. Easy to empty using the bin, and it restarts automatically. There is a filter that drops down occasionally that needs to be pushed back up before replacing the bin. Not a big deal though. We love it and highly recommend it. There are also different sizes available.

Pump does not work
I bought this dehumifdifier to place in a crawl space that is very hard to access. I bought it specifically for the pump as I cannot get to it to empty the pan. I placed the unit and ran the hose outside. After 24 hours, no water out the hose. I went back into the crawl space to find the pump light on and the pan full of water but nothing being pumped. I turned the pump off, unplugged the unit, removed the hose and started over from scratch. After 24 hours still no water being pumped. Pan is full of water again. The dehumidifier works great but I cannot empty the pan everyday and the pump does not work. Waste of Money. Very dissatisfied. If you want a unit to pump the water out of an inaccessible space, do not waste your money.

Money Well Spent
This is one powerful dehumidifier. You could say Its A Real Sucker (in a good way) .BUT BE WARNED That if you turn it down to around 40% without using the drain or pump in a damp setting be prepared to get up during the night to empty the bucket if you want to keep it running during the off peak hydro hours.. I lasted 3 nights of getting up before I said "that's it no more" and hooked up the pump. The ON and OFF Timers work great and being able to have both on at the same time is a real bonus.Yes look no further this is worth the money...Dave

Dry but hot
Worked perfectly after set up. Great at reducing humidity and the pump works well to clear the water down our drain - this allows continuous running which dehumidifies our basement beautifully. However, the machine gives off a surprising amount of hot air and so the basement becomes both drier but hotter. It’s about as noisy as any other humidifier, although you have to get used to the moderate increase in noise when the pump goes off. We noticed it at first, but don’t notice it any more

Deceptive marketing and pieces missing.
At first I was pretty excited to find a dehumidifier that ticked all the boxes for me.70-pint, check! Timer, check! Filter, check! Pump, check!Deception!I received the package and discovered on the headline of the user manual they are using a previous rating of 70-pint on the Amazon ad, but this unit has been reclassified as 50-pint.That seems like useful information to include ANYWHERE in the Amazon ad. It didn't just happen this morning, clearly you had time to do up printed manuals, certainly you can include proper specifications in an online ad that takes seconds to modify.Pieces missing! The unit having a pump AND the ability to drain onto the floor directly was a huge selling feature for me. Who wants to drain a pan constantly? Not this guy.The unit I received was missing the drain adapter mentioned as included on the manual (page 4).... kind of a critical piece.Since I now have no ability to attach a passive drain hose I now have to remove the plug and let water just piss down the back of the unit.Great features, but beware the deception and poor attention to detail.
