Beautiful dial, great functionality.
Positives: Beautiful watch. Looks so much better in person. It's because there are subtle angles on the chapter rings, and the applied markers have facets. You really have to get it under good, diffuse light to appreciate all of it. The chapter ring is layered. The chaptering is on a 45 degree incline but the internal bezel for the slide rule is on a more subtle angle. Closer to 15 degrees but obviously not flat. It makes the watch feel and look more well-thought out. It blows my mind that there are solar panels charging a capacitor under that beautiful, snow-white dial, and that they'll last a long time. I haven't used the slide rule bezel as much as I thought I would but when I did, it came in very handy. It's a breeze to decide how much to tip, or to find the subtotal that adds up to a certain amount after tax and tip.I already knew I would replace the brown leather band but I didn't expect it to look so nice on a NATO. I tried it with a leather band with white stitching which worked well and looked good but my skin wasn't having it. The polished steel on the case makes it easy to match bands to it.Downsides: The chronograph seconds hand is slightly out of alignment on my watch, with 0 being just between 0 and the first 1/5th second mark. The movement is installed about 1 degree clockwise relative to the dial. Everything applied to the dial is applied perfectly, but the dial itself it applied a dew degrees clockwise relative to the case. Those are probably the only issues without easy solutions. The band was meh but they have to cut some corners for value and they can't sell a watch without any band at all, so that's where the sacrifice is. Good replacement bands can be had for under 15 bucks all day. Great ones come under 30. Like NATOs? Great. Everyone and their mother makes 20mm NATO straps.Edit: It is February 18. I purchased it December 18. I set it when I got it and over the last two months it has picked up three seconds. I repeat, the watch I received picked up one and a half seconds PER MONTH. I doubt this is representative of all SSC013 watches, though. I think I just got lucky.

Handsome, handsome, handsome.....
JUST literally rec'd this watch after a short vaca. Opened the box and it matched my expectations. The case diameter is all over the map on Amazon, but is even larger than my 5-star rated Seiko pilots chronograph flight computer model SNA413P. I would guess the case diameter is 45mm. This, to me, is a HUGE plus. Big enough to draw attention, yet small enough to not draw attention. Not gaudy at all. Looks like a Brietling. But still walks talks acts like a Seiko, another Plus to me. I wished the fine leather band was jus a lil wider, perhaps another 3-4 mm wider, but im splitting hairs, literally. Cant say much about functioning as im charging it now for its initial charge. Came in nice, ubiquitous Seiko blue box. First impressions are, nice stiching on classy dark brown leather band. Loved the polished hour markers giving watch a jewel like quality. But checkered pattern on bezel sides are 'eh'... not too heavy. Loved Big white faced dial. This will look terrific w a suit. The correct watches to wear w suits are NOT sports watches or big Rolex's. Correct ones are dark leather bands w white face and simple. But this watch has a lil sportiness w the dials, but I work where I may need some of these sporty features. Proud to yet have another 5-star rated Seiko. Laugh when I walk into boutique stores where some of the higher end watches look absolutely ATROCIOUS and costs 3-4 times MORE. No thanks to them, but Thank You Seiko.

Fantastic with a nato strap
The band it came with looked a bit cheap and did not do the watch justice, but once you go with a different strap, wow what a difference. Have had this watch for over 6 months now, haven't had to adjust the time since then. Works perfect and looks fantastic on a nato strap.

Fantastic style, very reliable.
I love the style and details on this watch.I had a hard time finding a Solar, white dial, Chronograph watch that was more technical than dressy. This one fits the bill and more. The slide-rule comes with instructions and can be useful when calculating travel distances and conversions. Chronograph works flawlessly, and I'm finding the movement to be pretty accurate as well (+- ~ 3seconds per month). The alarm is a nice bonus as my previous solar doesn't have this feature and I'm finding myself using it more often than I thought.I swapped the band out for a NATO strap in Gulf Racing colors, and couldn't be happier.

Lasts a little longer than the warranty period
This watch lasted 18 months and now the battery doesn't charge. Replaced battery from official Seiko repair shop. Still doesn't work.

Very nice watch for almost two years until it broke
The good: Very good looking, well make, the movement is precise. Never submerged it or even took a bath with it but it did took a couple of rain showers, no problems with water. It still has no scratches on the crystal, the belt is good quality. The bad: A year and 9 months after the purchase it began stopping, it restarts after I reset the time. When it stops the second hand is always in the same position so I suspect a mechanical problem. There is no power problem because the chronograph works even when it is stopped. I don't have a warranty anymore....The failure rate shouldn't be high with this brand but I wanted to tell my story, I hope I am one of the few.

Orologio bellissimo e ottimo servizio

Watch arrived on time
Watch arrived on time. Love almost everything about the watch. Although I will not be using the alarm much, I appreciate the fact that I can use the alarm dial for a second time zone. It has great presence, and feels great on the wrist. If there is one drawback it is the tiny/almost invisible numbers on the inner bezel. You have too look way too hard to line up numbers between the outer and inner bezel. This is the only thing that keeps the rating from being a full 5 stars. If you are going to sell a flight watch, at least make it such that the circular slide rule is usable to those that do like to use it.
