Terrific foam action
I just got and tried out this shave brush with a premium shave creme. My first impression is extremely positive. First, it's terrific the company recognizes the vegan-product market is growing significantly, both here in the US and abroad. And an insert included with the product attests to it being animal-product free. The brush also sports a handsome 100% hardwood handle that's finished to guard against water damage BUT which isn't polished slick like other wood-handle brushes that tend to slip out of your hand while you're applying shave products. Understated and elegant. The magic of a shave brush, however, is in how effectively it forms foam on your face (or in the cup). I applied a small amount of shave cream to the tips of the lightly wet bristles and then tried to foam the cream on my face. The brush lathered the tiny bit of cream into a rich layer that made shaving a breeze. If you prefer a thick froth, you might have to use a cup. I want shaving to be comfortable but fast. And this brush produces a far better layer on my face than my old-fashioned hand-application.I'm learning you can't be confident in your review of a product until you've used it consistently for several months, so I'll update this review if anything changes. But so far, I'm very happy with this product and may start gifting it.

A little stiff
This shaving brush is ok. Needed a replacement. It works good a little stiffer brush than I like.

Great Brush
I realize that a true badger hair brush might perform better then the synthetic counter parts, or that true shaving "aficionados" will scoff at anything that isn't real badger, but I really haven't noticed mush difference. Most negative reviews on synthetic brushes that I read were regarding the feel or performance of the brush (too course, did not produce a good lather, etc), compared to true badger or horse hair brushes. However, i think this performs just as well as any comparably priced animal hair equivalent.I have an ethical objection to how the Badger hair is harvested for most brushes that are on the market, so I chose to opt for a synthetic hair brush instead. This brush is adequately soft on the face, and it helps produce a good lather. It also cleans out, dries, and holds up extremely well. I haven't had any shedding or bristles fall out, and its been in constant use for well over a year.I would definitely recommend if your looking for a fairly priced and very solid synthetic shaving brush.

Entry Level Brush That Does Its Job
This is by no means a fancy brush. It has a pretty small diameter knot, which will likely be too small for some. It is synthetic which is fine, but some people just have to have their badger or boar hair. I've used it a couple months and I haven't noticed any shedding.I'm giving it 5 stars not because it is a great brush, but because it is good for what it is supposed to be. For the money, it is a great starter brush. Also, synthetics have the advantage of having great "backbones."

How well the brush holds the shaving cream
The brush is easy to load with shave cream. The brush material is substantial, firm, and holds the shave cream thickly and well.
