Seems to work
For a year or so a rat pooped in a corner of my back porch, right next to our screen sliding door. Almost every morning I would have to sweep it up. I've tried to trap it humanely and used bleach & water to repel it. Neither worked. I couldn't use suggested oils as repellent because I have a dog and I've read that it can be toxic to her. The Ultrasonic Pest Repellent amazingly works. Thankfully, there was an outlet right above where the rat would poop, I plugged it in there a few weeks ago and I haven't seen it's droppings since! It also seems to work for ants. Its the season here that ants come into our house to get to my cats food. I plugged one in near where their food bowls are after we had two incidents of ants and no ants. Great product so far.

They are not perfect
Do they work? I'd like to believe they do, but here are the catches: first, they get plugged into an outlet and the instructions say the outlet needs to be 38 to 42 inches off the ground. Do you have many outlets that are that high off the floor? The second problem was that I got these to rid myself of a cricket problem. Every morning I was being awoke by an orchestra of crickets. It was horrible. I set up these repellers, and the following morning it was more like a solo or duet of crickets. I saw a difference right away. But then, about a week later, the crickets increased to a quartet or more because they seemed to have relocated into the walls, and these repellers don't work through walls. So, I still have a cricket problem.

So far so good
I was skeptical but we've had them plugged in for about a month and no ants, spiders etc since. Two days after I first plugged them in I had one spider but it was dead, not sure if it was just a coincidence though. We live in a 70 yr old home surrounded by old huge low hanging trees so we get the occasional ants, spiders, earwigs and those dreaded/awful/evil house centipedes. Nothing crazy and not a ton but enough to be annoying. Haven't seen any since plugging these in. I have a toddler so no harsh sprays smells etc is a plus and no sound. Nightlight on each one is a plus too. Fingers crossed they continues to work.

I wasn't sure if these would work, but they seem to be keeping the insects away and out of my home. I haven't noticed as many insects lurking about, mostly spiders in my basement, as before I plugged them in... very pleased with my purchase!
