Practical and Helpful
Daniel Willingham is the best! Buy this for the high school graduate in your life. It will help them in college. In fact, go ahead and give it to the high school freshman in your life because most of it will help them in high school too.

Good Info
Lots of great information for anyone who works in any educational setting. As a teacher, I find it helpful to teach my students how their brains work so they can worker smarter and not harder. This book gave me some new insight to pass along to them.

A Must Read!
This book is terrific for anyone heading toward college/university, although high schoolers would benefit from reading it too. Dr. Willingham brilliantly addresses the demands of college with relatable stories as he provides easy to apply tips on how to be successful. He addresses everything from establishing study habits to overcoming test anxiety to increasing your confidence and so much more, honoring every part of you as a learner. I’m so thankful he wrote this book and highly recommend it!Mary

A good book to give to kids who need to prepare -- properly -- for college
This is a good book. Give it to somebody who is still in high school. It will help them learn how collegesexpect them to 'think' and behave in that new world. Tell them to keep it with them when they go offto college, because it will help them make the transition.

Good Book!
I wish I would have had this book when I was in school. It is very eye opening on how we all learn differently. If you are a parent, teacher or just someone wanting to make self improvements, give this one a try!

Outdated
This book has some good ideas, but it feels old and dated. Good for students if they have the patience to read something like this in today's world.

An Excellent for High School and College and anyone else who just enjoys Learning
I bought two of these books for my grandchildren. I had reviewed it myself, borrowing a book from my Library before purchasing them.

Thought provoking and memorably taught
Very interesting ideas on how to study effectively. There's a chapter devoted to each important study skill, such as how to take notes, how to attend a lecture, etc. The chapters themselves use the key ideas that Daniel teaches. Each chapter begins with a question and stories help you to remember the content. One reviewer said this isn't for students, it is! Each chapter has about 80% devoted to students and 20% at the end for how instructors should apply the concepts to their courses. As a teacher, I found the book has given me lots of things to think about and many easy ways to implement them in my lessons. As a student I've learned a lot and I already feel like I'm remembering more of what I study.

Valuable book for educators and students
While much of the information is something that people might already know, sometimes it’s good to be reminded. The book also sets useful strategies clearly and has a section of advice for instructors at the end of each chapter.

A Teacher's Book
Geared more to the university senior college student than the school but still a helpful read.
