This is a woven bamboo matchstick blind which resembles sushi mats. This blind filters partial of the sunlight and yet vision is not completely obstructed. This is a corded blind. In order to ensure safety for children and pets, please install the child safety cord cleats at least 6 feet (72 inches) above floor level. Do not leave cord hanging at any time.

Affordable Option for Window Treatments
We used them on interior windows, to finally replace awful old aluminum blinds. They look great, and allow lots of light, while still diffusing it, so it's less harsh. Easily trimmed a few inches off of each side with a chop saw, to fit the window opening. Easy to hang, with all hardware included.

Not just for windows!
I needed a screen door solution and for me this matchstick blindhas been better than a screen door because of the privacy it provides.(During the day I can see out but people outside cannot see in).I needed more air ventilation in my 1970s mobile home but the doors openout and there was no good way to mount a screen door on the inside, soI hung this blind over my door inside and I let it down when my door is open.Great air flow, no bugs get in and because of how matchstick blinds work, nowone can see into my home but I can see out. At night I roll it up when I close thedoor. (I do add a 2 ft tall board at the bottom to keep my dog from pushing herway out). It has had been a perfect solution for me.

Beautiful blinds!
IMG_8069.jpgThese blinds add a nice finishing touch to informal rooms. Good value. They filter some of the light, but allow visibility to outside. There is some visibility at night looking in. Follow the directions to hang. The pulley and the lock need to face the room. I say this because the left and right hooks may not be equal distant from the center hook which is important when you mark the drill holes. I plan to purchase more!

Good shades!
These blinds are basically what I expected. They are not fancy, but very plain and simple. They arrived in good condition and in a timely manner. They were easy to install, and are easy to roll up and down, and you can lock them at various heights. The coloration is consistent and I see no flaws. The work quite well on the outside of my windows on the south and west sides of my house to keep the temperature down in the interior on hot and sunny days by blocking a lot of direct sun on the glass. I also like that you can still see through them, to keep an eye on kids & pets in the yard, and that they let some natural light come through so it is not dark inside. I highly recommend them if your house has lots of exposed windows like mine. They work better than using curtains &/or shades on the inside.

PERFECT FOR LARGE WET FELTING!
I cut the blind into halves and retied the threads to make two rolling mats for larger wet felting projects. My daughter and I then made a cat 'pod' that turned out great and would have been really difficult without the right tool to get the thick wool completely felted. MacGyver would be proud... we didn't have to deal with rollers and cords to make the shade usable and now we each have a rolling mat. Excellent!

I love that this item lets in light while maintaining some ...
I love that this item lets in light while maintaining some privacy once outside is better lit than inside. At night, no one can see through this particular window so it's fine in terms of possible lack of privacy at that time. There are about 4-5 inches between the top of the hooks and the start of the bamboo blinds so best to cater for this when installing the rod for it to hang on. Bought the 36x72. I keep it indoors but in direct heat all year long and no damages thus far (have had it for 1 year +)

Have to be aware this is not MOLD PROOF.
When I bought this, I had several installed already and was short one shade. The ones I had bought from Wal Mart were no longer in stock. So I had to locate one. It was twice the price I paid for the Wal Mart shades. These shades are really not made to be used outdoors. I have them on my screen porch. They pick up black mold pretty quick. Pain in the neck to clean with mold sprays or cleaners. The plastic ones may be a better choice all around.

and found that these blinds are made of pretty small/thin bamboo
I bought these to replace a much older set (12 years), and found that these blinds are made of pretty small/thin bamboo, not as sturdy as I was hoping. The colors are good, and the overall quality is "sufficient" for my purposes, but it remains to be seen as to how long these will last as sun shades. If you're looking for protection on a window from "afternoon sun", then these will probably work well for you. If you're looking for something to be in the sun all day, like I am, I'm not sure how well these perform over time. I'll try to remember to post an update in a few months with additional information.
