No! The small green can. (cylinder) are what is used. The large propane cylinders (5 gallon+) have much higher pressures and will simply burst your stove's gas distribution/burner assemblies. You would need to install a pressure regulator to get the proper operating pressure for your stove. The manufacturer can provide this data.

Can this be used indoors for emergency?

I would Never use propane stoves indoors, not even in an emergency. They produce carbon monoxide which can kill you. But I have used it on my 3 season porch with a couple windows open.
