Came with the wrong USB cord that will not fit the unit.
First, I am not new to TomTom products. I have had TomTom GPS units since they were being sold for about $800. I ordered this model to have for my work truck because the price was great and it was very close to the new one my wife got a few months back. The product is packaged in a box with heat shrinking on the outside. When I opened the box, it had the GPS unit, a cord and a 12 volt adapter for use in a vehicle. The problem that I ran into is that the USB Cord is not designed for this unit. The included cord has a shape on the end of the cord that does not make it possible to plug into the device.I contacted the company that sold the item and sent photos, but they said that the plug is supposed to go into the base that the GPS mounts into. There is no base. The GPS unit has a suction cup attached to it and the cord is supposed to plug into the GPS unit itself. Luckily for me, this is not my first TomTom and I was able to use the cord from my wife's unit to update the GPS maps and connect it to my TomTom account. I am disappointed that it did not come with the right plug because the plug it comes with is useless for this model. I will add photos below of the plug that was included and you can see how they the plug won't even match up with the unit.If you do not own a similar model TomTom GPS and cannot borrow the plug from that unit, I would advise against ordering this 1515M model. You need to have the TomTom usb cable that is designed for the TomTom unit in order to connect the GPS to the computer for updates. This comes with lifetime free maps and you will want to update. The reason that I gave this a 3 stars is that the unit itself seems to be ok, but I had to be lucky enough to have a cord on hand that would fit in order to use this item.

Makes me miss my old TomTom XXL...
...as it was before it was "updated" into irrelevance by increasing the information density so much that the 2GB memory could only contain 7 states, so 41 others were discarded. (Found this out on a road trip that took me through 2 of the absent states. Fortunately I had maps.) The XXL was once a superb database of forest service campgrounds (better than any guidebook) whereas the VIA 1515 only lists roadside commercial parks & resorts.Oddly, there's no POI category for grocery stores. You can only find one by repeatedly entering names of supermarket chains serially till you find one near you. The "shopping" category overwhelms you with hundreds of retail stores; "shopping centers" begets mall locations with no indications of its tenants. On the plus side there's 8GB onboard in the VIA, with a micro SD expansion slot. Problem with that is you can only load extra maps, routes & POIs you've downloaded by going through the TomTom website, which is a marvel of opacity, dead ends & intrusive product pitches. Then there's performance: Took the 1515 on a trial shopping run in a 3-mile radius from home: On 2 of 3 destinations (one of them Home) it began telling me to make a U-turn and go back when I got within a half mile of the destination. Then, comically, it announced my arrival after I ignored instructions and proceeded. In neither case could I have reached the destination by any alternate route. Good thing I wasn't on alien turf. This is the sort of digital crap for which I dropped Garmin (actually worse).Being a refurb unit, I forgave them the included power cable with a crushed, unusable end plug, and the omission of a USB cable because the VIA GPS socket accepts cell phone cables I already own.

Great GPS unit and gets me where I need to go.
Love the GPS unit I upgraded from an old Tom Tom Xl this one works much faster and is more update able and you can buy a separate antenna that will send delays on your route to your Gps unit. If a faster route exists because of a traffic delay you can set it up easily to take you on the fastest route, best of all it is not running down my phone battery and burning my data either.

Dead after 11 months
Dead after 11 months. Push power button....nothing. Pretty sure heat got to it. Yes, it is hot in Texas over 100 degrees last 10 days. But my last GPS last more than 5 years in same truck same heat!

Great deal on a TomTom GPS
This GPS works great and is a great deal. I love the way TomTom presents information, it's easy to program and with lifetime maps it is a wonderful value. I'm going to buy two more so we have one for each car in the family.Update - ordered two more units and they arrived within a week and both work great.

Does not include free lifetime traffic.
Description of Tomtom shows free lifetime traffic but this GPS does not have this option. Description is misleading. Returning GPS for full refund.

Very impressed with this unit.
This is my second gps. It takes the weird addresses in my area, after plotting a route, if you deviate from the route, it just plots a new one, not trying to get me to turn around for 4 miles. It also tends to plan routes that make sense, not take you 10 miles further to save a minute.
