CUB CADET19A30046100 Xtreme Mulching Kit 42" Deck XT1-LT42E ZT1-42E Lawn Mowers

Bought the original Cub Cadet mulch blade kit for my LT1 mower. Works well. Make sure you put the wing side up of the blade when installing. Catch 22 on these blades because Cub Cadet went to a “S” style connection where the blade attaches with the bolt. Can’t use or old style star looking attachment blade. Hopefully more companies will make this style blade in the short future. Cover the 3 holes where the old shoot cover came off with duct tape to prevent grass shooting through the holes.

They work well. I have. Number of trees where leaves are falling and the blades help mulch the leaves and clean the lawn.

It doesn’t fit all that well as grass is forced out of the top and bottom so it should be removed and cleaned every time you cut your grass to aluminate your deck from rusting. Not really sure who came up with a $70 charge for this, but I guess they need the money.

Spent a couple of hours installing the mulching blades. I get the deck back on. All that was easy. Now the last part of the install that was supposed to be the easy part was not. The molded plug does not fit the Ultima ZT1 42in Zero Turn in any way. It hardly lined up with the secondary bolt it sits on. and then when it did, it has a huge gap at the bottom, that will most certainly allow grass through or plug up blades. Best case scenario is a modification to the plug. I can't believe they would even market this product. This should most definitely be a recall product. Or at least stop saying it fits the 42 inch.

Complete waste of money. Everything installed as expected no issues very easy. The blades looked about as sharp as a butter knife, actually a butter knife probably would have been sharper. When you cut the grass, it leaves clumps of grass all over the place, tried these blades three times same result each time, even after only 3 days of growth grass does not get chopped up fine enough to blend into lawn just clumps everywhere. Had to mow over the clumps of grass two or three times. AND the blade edges are short by about an inch on either side in the middle so it leaves a strip of partially cut grass down the middle of the mower. Worst money I ever spent!
