I love this detergent so much, I give it as gifts! Laundress cleans, is concentrated so you use less, smells wonderful and is a small company. I keep returning and use nothing but this now!

I like this product. Yeah, it's expensive, but I use Le Blanc and Laundress for almost all our laundry as opposed to grocery store brands. A little goes a long way because you don't need to use as much product as you do grocery store brands (unless you buy super concentrated ones). At least that how I adapted to (rationalized) the higher pricing. It also works in HE washers and doesn't leave residue inside. I took away a star because the liquid, for this particular product, is awfully thick. Not so, for their other formulations, btw. So much so, it doesn't all empty out of the dispenser from our LG front load washer. After several times of discovering most of the detergent was still in the dispenser, after the clothes were dried and put away, I started making an effort to solve the issue. I tried diluting it for awhile, which wasn't a good solution, and finally ended up just squirting it in the tub, which isn't ideal, but it gets the job done.We wear mostly all dark clothes so this stuff gets used a lot. So many laundry detergents have brighteners...which fade darks, so it's well worth it to us to prolong the color/appearance of our jeans, t-shirts, etc. by using a laundry detergent formulated for darks (no brighteners added). Laundress for Darks has been our go-to for about 3 years now and we don't have any complaints. The fragrance doesn't bother us, but we usually do an extra rinse, so neither of us finds is over-whelming. I'm like the other reviewer who prefers not to wear laundry detergent in lieu of perfume. We don't get super dirty at our house, so basically, we want a product that preserves the fibers and color as well as gets out odors, grime and the occasional mustard or toothpaste blob. :-) Laundress for Darks does the trick...which is why we keep buying. If Le Blanc had a darks detergent, we'd probably use that since it's been around for ages and we've used it for the rest of our laundry, sheets, towels and clothing for years.

This detergent seems gentle enough and keeps my dark clothes dark and bright colors bright. The fragrance is fresh--light, not overpowering.

I've used several of the Laundress products and like their other products, this one is effective. I've been struggling with a white residue on my dark clothes after washing. I've tried cleaning the washer multiple times, used less detergent, run an extra rinse cycle, all to no avail. So I tried this product. I was very pleased to see that no residue remained on the clothes, so it worked as advertised. The only drawback from my perspective is the scent - it is too strong for me. For reference, I try to use unscented products whenever possible, as I'm especially sensitive to detergent and fabric softener smells. If you regularly use detergents like Tide, I don't think the scent would be a problem for you.

Definitely seems to be keeping my black clothes black & treating them gently. Scent is nice. I use 1/2 the recommended amount & it still works great. Bottle is a nice manageable size & I expect it to last a year doing just 1 load of black laundry a week. Would definitely buy again.

Love the dark detergent as well as the white. It is highly concentrated.I used three cap full with the white detergent, and I had suds everywhere. Two is all that is needed.The dark detergent cleans well with low suds.The dispensing cap could be better designed. It leaves a messy, dripping cap.Love all of Laundress products except the one for intimates, left my underwear too soft and flimsy.

I really love this detergent. I love the smell - I think it's refreshing and super pleasant and don't find it too musky. That is pretty huge for me since I'm picky about scents. It seems to do a fine job on my clothes/darks. I don't notice any performance difference between this and my standard Woolite Darks detergent, which works for me. I wasn't sure it would last me since I don't have a HE washer, but it seems to be holding up. I wear mostly dark colors so wasn't sure if it would feel like I was running through it like water. The load size is a 1/4 cup or 4 capfuls when you don't have a HE washer, which only equates to 16 loads per bottle!! To me, the additional cost may be worth it to avoid worse chemicals found in traditional laundry detergents. I think I plan on buying a second bottle when it's time, so that probably speaks volumes. However, that being said, there aren't a lot of options on the market for dark detergents, whether traditional with tons of chemicals, or safer (hopefully) alternatives like this one. I'm just lucky I can afford to pay more to minimize chemicals in my life and that they even make such products as this available to the masses (but I'm only doing laundry for myself and not a big family).

Like many people, I wear lots of black and dark colors. I've been so frustrated about fading after spending good money on my wordrobe. I'm not talking designer, but enough to not think of clothing as disposable.Crazy I know, but I was hoping something like this would come on the market...maybe at a lower price but you use so little of this I think it's not so bad after the sticker shock wears off. What really helps is how much longer my clothes will last. That is a huge savings!I was so pressed with how my darks came out. They were not faded. Most of my darling Skylar's hair was gone and they were crisper, heftier as if the fibers maintained their integrity during the wash. I'm in love.I have a front loader but it's a stacked unit. My loads are small so its easy to devide my laundry into small loads. I put all my good darks in with The Laundress and my ordinary darks like pajamas in with the ordinary detergent.This Darks wash is everything it claims to be. The only downside is the fragrance is very nice but way too strong and it lingers. First, I'm scent sensitive. Second, I prefer to smell like my perfume not my laundry. I ususally choose unsented.

Used for all black or colored tees, jeans, socks, under wear, camisoles. All that sort of thing and the scent lasts quite a long time. Love it!!!

Works ok. Bought because I wanted something for everyday use and not just delicates like the most common detergent for darks. My usual product has apparently stopped production. However, this product is so concentrated that it is gooey and hard to measure out. It also has a nasty scent like a household cleaning product. The upside is that it is in a smaller container than most laundry products so compact enough to take on an extended vacation, which is also why I bought it.

Two important things to note before you buy:1. This product has a very thick texture, to the point where it gets stuck in the detergent compartment of my LG front load washer (there's detergent left after a whole cycle).2. As other have noted, it also has a very strong lavender smell, which you might appreciate or not. I would have preferred something a little more toned down.

Smells like heaven.
