The new one compared to one of my old ones
I have two now three of these lights. I used them for the last thirteen years just this year I had to get new batteries, I always keep them on the charger after use weather it was used a few minutes or a few hours, or the whole weekend. The batteries were still working and charging the finally started to not last as long. If the new one lasts half as long as the first two, this will be the last time I ever buy a flashlight and batteries. I beat the h*#$ out of these lights. Everything short of using it as a hammer. And they take it. Inova best flashlight ever made, in my opinion. Update been using this new t4 for a while now the batteries are not as good as the old ones as in the charge don't last as long "run time" and the light gets really hot on the new one not like the old one I'm still beating the h*#$ out of these lights just not as long. Nothing that a quick battery swap won't fix. Ok another update as of 4/21/22. It really tick's me off when a company like Nite Eyes tries to better a product that they nailed the first time i was impressed with my first two lights and i still am. im still using them today i think its been 14 years now with one new battery replacment each in all the years. Incredible. Now about the new one yes it's brighter yes it does not last as long and yes it gets hella hot not like the old ones. And the quality you can feel its not there like the old ones. Like i said it ticks me off when greed takes over a company. Yea y its all in the name of better engineering. I get that when its done to better a product not when you hire engineers that engineer a a already great product to be built on the cheap to make more money and down grade a product and build it with subpar parts and sale it using the original name and reputation and price it the same when they know dam well its not going to last im not going to send the new light in to get fixed im going to look on ebay to try and find a old used one and take it apart and put the old parts in the new body the switch does not turn the light on. And started to act wierd four months in. I would not send my old light in for any service because i dont want them to change out my old parts for the new cheap ones. For the price i paid i should of got a new streamlight hopefully i can find two or three used old ones for parts if they ever fail again. Not worth it the quality is not there any more. Nite eyes you have lost a longtime fan. A.Clinton

One of the best flashlights you can get. Definitely worth the price.
One of the most amazing and reliable flashlights. Definitely worth the higher price tag.I had the original Inova T4 years ago that was only 100 lumens, and even then it was bright for it's time. Now this one is 850!! The only issue I had with the original T4 was that after a long time the connection where the switch was started to have issues. They have a very good warranty as well and I returned it and got a new one and that one had the same issue as well. So I'm hoping they've solved that in this new version. Now to the review of this model. As it says in the specs, in the box it came with the T4R flashlight, 2600 mah Lithium Ion rechargeable battery, USB charging cradle, USB AC power supply and USB DC/vehicle adapter. The flashlight itself has a very solid build. Has a nice heavy feel in your hand and comfortable grip. The button is a bit squishy as opposed to clicky as I've seen people say in other reviews, but once you get used to it then you don't notice it.The different light levels from the one switch is a really nice feature. This one also has a new feature which is a variable level brightness. I'll describe the different switch presses and what they do:One quick press - on full powerOne quick press after 2 seconds - turn offTwo quick presses - flashing strobe modeOne quick press, pause, second quick press within two seconds - low power modeOne quick press, second press and hold - variable power mode, hold until the brightness you want then releasePress and hold - full power on - release to turn offThe charge cradle works very well. Just snap it in and it charges. Red light for charging, green comes on when done. Can use the wall adapter or 12v car adapter, or any USB source that has enough power like USB 3.0.I haven't tested how long it will stay on for a full charge yet, so maybe I'll do that and update this review later. I'll also do a video of the brightness levels and add that at some point.

Solid and focused
Ive been on the job for over 20 years, 27 to be exact, and i bought the original inova T4 when they first came out because they were the first to have a lithiom ion battery. Im thinkin that was over 15 years ago. I bought a new battery, and realized the original was still working fine. This newer one is 3X brighter, and has modes. My original had momentary on, or click to stay on, THATS IT... on/off. This new version is just as solid, and sturdy, as my old one has bounced off pavement, been thrown, submerged in water and mud, etc. Heres the real deal. You will never need to replace the battery, or maybe in 15-20 years, and lets face it...you wont even have it then! FYI it is the standard issue flashlight for LAPD, and used by cops like me all over the globe.

Longest life flashlight I've ever owned.
The media could not be loaded. I've owned this brand since 1999.This light is by far the toughest and most reliable I've ever seen. It's been dropped, run over, lost in the snow for 5 weeks and still gave me incredible service. If you want a light that stands the test of time, get this one. This one pictured is my replacement (since 1999) I just bought, I have had coworkers outside using lights in the dark, I walk up and turn this on and they all look at me like, "what kind of light is that, that thing us really bright."

Great Duty Light.
I have had several past iterations of this light and they all have worked great. I upgrade every so often when a newer (brighter) version is released. I like the Inova T4 better than the Streamlight we are issued in our department. It is a little smaller and much more resilient. I have had a switch on one of my previous models go out, and Inova has been great on fixing it. They stand behind their guarantee. I highly recommend this light if you’re into police or security work. I have used an Inova T4 for the past 11 years and won’t switch to another brand.
